The food here was so bad! ?Mushy, poorly seasoned rice, dry, flavorless chicken skewers with poorly selected vegetables, and so on and so forth…I mean not just bad in one dimension, but:a bad recipe, poorly executed, with bad to mediocre at best ingredients. The kind of food where if someone gave it to you as a free meal, you might have regretted eating it because you could’ve paid for actual good food and felt satisfied.Judging by the reviews either we hit these guys on an INSANELY off-day, or the whole world has lost its mind! The one thing that was palatable - not amazing, I’ve had much better, but not bad - was the lentil soup

Lovely restaurant! I tried the cold spreads which tasted like a lovely day spent in the Eastern parts of the Mediterranean. The spices were excellent and the combinations creative.

Locoum and other desserts appear in the front window to entice you in. There is a cute exterior seating space and the indoor seating feels clean and welcoming with a spacious feel. The service was a bit low-staffed but they were very friendly, efficient and responsive so we were able to complete our lunch within the 1 hour window. Everything except the falafel salad was 4-5 stars. Good value for money on the starters.

Troya may be better for dinner than it is for brunch. The brunch menu was a bit hit or miss, with good but not exceptional fare. The chicken salad was a bit boring and the eggplant dish suffered from a “too sweet” red sauce. A DJ was playing some great music, but, again, perhaps better suited to create a hip evening vibe-it seemed under appreciated by day.

Super nice and cozy old age, food, Turkish food, the owner of the place always there and happy to assist with everything the best Turkish cuisine I ever

Excellent food, service and quiet atmosphere for our business meeting. I had the red lentil soup which came with warm pita bread. The combination was perfect for a rainy day. Flavorful, delicious and quite filling!

My East Coast niece hadn't been to SF since she was a little girl. I chose Troya because I've had good experiences there in pre-COVID life. I'd requested an outside table when the forecast was still for dry weather. I'd even called a couple days before to reiterate my request. But it was pouring, and I forgot to call back and say we would sit inside. When we got there, the parklet was deserted. We offered to sit outside anyway, but our hosts quickly located a table for the three of us (the restaurant was full) and were kind about not making me feel like an idiot. The restaurant is warm-casual and nicely lit. The menu had changed since my last visit and I liked it even more. All of the appetizers we shared --creamy, slightly sweet baked eggplant, hummus with crispy chickpeas, refreshing tzatziki, spicy/sweet muhammara--were perfect. We had to slow down to keep from gobbling our lamb, salmon, and chicken skewers with rice. Left well-fed and determined to return soon.

Because I was in a hurry, instead of eating at the restaurant, I ordered takeout and decided to eat it in the car. None of the dishes tasted good; for example, they didn't even properly mix the spices in the lentil soup; it felt like I was eating spices instead of soup. Despite insisting on adding lemon and necessary utensils for the soup to the package, they didn't include them. Did they expect us to eat the meal with our hands? I don't understand. In short, it's a really awful and expensive place; never go there, I don't recommend it.
