Beautiful ambiance and delicious Portuguese cuisine, I loved my first outing here with my boo who has been here before. We started off with a yummy potato soup followed by cod and potato fritter. For our entrees, I ordered the bacalhau à Gomes de sá, and my boo ordered the carne de porco à alentejana (I liked his dish a little better). We didn’t skip on dessert, and ordered the beautiful pastel de nata. Will be coming back again!

This place is incredible. The octopus, shrimp turnovers, short rib, and branzino are all to die for. Great wine and service all 5+ times I’ve been here. Really high quality and affordable tasting menu or a la carte, can’t go wrong :)

Such a fun and special dinner with friends and Chef Telmo! My favorite two dishes were chilled fennel and potato soup with Dungeness crab and seared yellowfin tuna, garbanzo bean puree, escabeche. The flavors were spot on as were the complex textures of the dishes. Crisp white Azorean and Portuguese wines accompanied the excellent meal.

I rarely encounter a restaurant in SF to which I have nothing to complain through in the entire dining experience.Every dish is well prepared, well seasoned, and the ingredients are super fresh.I love the green salad, the pear and the toasted almonds are delicious together. The almonds are super fresh! The dressing is light and just right, perfect amount of oils and vinaigrette. The salted cod croquette is an highlight. The crust is very very thin and it is full of generous amount of thinly threaded cod. Super umami. Fried but not greasy at all. Lots of restaurant cannot make it as perfect as they do.My another favorite is the rice in seafood broth. To me, I’d prefer less oil in the rice. But this still tastes really good. The broth is infused with the natural sweetness of seafood, and reminds me of the time in Portugal.

This isn't one of the SF restaurants floating by on location and trendy decorations. The food is genuinely wonderful with excellent service as well.

Positive aspects of this place:1. Service was exceptional, servers were very knowledgeable and friendly.2. The Bacalhau dish was exceptional, very well seasoned and served in a great portion.3. The peach cocktail was amazing, and I would definitely go back just for the drink.4. The bacalhau balls were definitely the star of the night! If you go there make sure to order them.Negative aspects of this place.1. Alcatra was disappointing. The collard greens were way too salty, and the whole dish itself it’s more of a French dish rather than Portuguese.2. Pastel de Nata was the biggest disappointment of the night. It looked grey-ish and cold, which made me don’t wanna eat it. Additionally, they dusted some cinnamon on it, which I have never seen it in any pastel de nata I’ve ever tried. I lived in Brazil for 20 years and never seen anything like that! It definitely ruined the dish.To summarize it, it was ugly, cold, and distasteful. My girlfriend didn’t even eat hers. I didn’t wanna be a Karen and send it back, but I wanted to try this place because of the Pastel de Nata.Pastel de nata is supposed to have that yellow custard color. But ours was grey. Felt like it was reheated again after another customer didn’t want it, and they didn’t want to waste it.
