I go to Woodhouse on Fillmore 4-5x a year -- usually for lunch. Yesterday on a Saturday I wanted to take my kid there for her birthday. Their website and Google Maps say they're open till 10pm on Tue, Fri and Sat. We got there around 8:30 and they're telling us they're closing at 9pm and not seating any more tables. At least, a couple tables look like they've just been seated. I tell them their website says different hours. The host says he's new and he apologizes and gives me an offer to speak to his manager. Then he says they had a lobster roll event and all the lobster rolls are sold out, so that's why they're not seating any more tables. I tell them that I'm not planning on ordering lobster rolls and all they can do is apologize and look blank. All of them look like they're itching to close up their shift and go to a party. I don't blame them, but it's Saturday (1 of the 2 busiest dining nights of the week) and it's a night they're supposed to be open till 10. This group of staffers wasn't at all like the usual great, attentive staff I've encountered on my visits before. I'll still go to Woodhouse again, but definitely have trust issues now. ;-). 4 stars for their typical experience across food, service, atmosphere, 1 star for the dinner failure yesterday.

It's a descent place, nothing special. Bring kids, but not a date kind of place.

I came here last night for date night dinner and it was so good. My husband has been on this fish and chips thing lately and this is favorite by far.*The fish was tender and the outside was crisp and light. French fries were nice and hot.The tartar sauce and was also light and not too heavy on the mayo.* clam chowder the bowl size is perfect for sharing. Nice clumps of potatoes and seafood*lobster roll the bread had a nice sweetness and butter. Crispy and light. The lobster was fresh and sweet. Good portion as well when it came to the lobster. The seating is comfortable for small groups and the wait staff is very friendly.I can’t wait to have another date night!

Fish and chips were phenomenal. My husband got there to pick up our order 20 mins late and then had to bring it home for dinner. We ate it cold and it was still so delicious, love the lemony garlic tartar sauce as well. The fish pieces were huge and we couldn't finish it. We are fans now!!

I tried cioppino, it’s not fresh and there were some sands in the shell and soup. Not recommended.

Fish and chips and stuffed artichokes, three beers $100. including tip. The food was OK, nothing is inexpensive in this city.

The bowl of clam chowder was tasty, but was not very substantive. Shrimp and avocado was tasty, but was very small also...

Garlic, garlic and more garlic. I want to taste the fish, not garlic. Particularly if the garlic is not fresh. Cute place and nice service but they need to simplify their cooking.
