Lovely place. Great decor, history, and drinks. Classic cocktails only, no cocktail menu. This bar has been around since 1941. You'll hear great stories about the past owner who refused to serve hippies during the 60s (it's wild to think about that) and a character named Bad Dave who is no longer allowed at the bar. Definitely recommend this place, especially if you are a fan of gin martinis.
This bar is super cool. I know it's known for martinis but I got a French 75 here and it was boooomb. The bar is cash only which is not my fave but it's doable for a couple drinks. Also the night I went the bartender was kind of cranky and rude, but everyone has a bad day sometimes! Maybe that's part of the vibe...

ZamZam. Good old ZamZam. Strong pours of classic drinks. My go to is the Manhattan. Lots of people drinking shots with a beer back as well as those having gin and vodka martinis. Place has a beautiful mural behind the bar that’s been there mostly forever. Pretty sure the place would look seedier were the low lighting ever turned up. Still, old school bar on upper Haight.
