Tried them for the first time the other week. Was on my way from Rancho Mirage to LA and needed to pickup some lunch to bring to some lunch over. This place is right off the San Gabriel exit on Highway 10, so quite convenient. There wasn't much in terms of variety but the food was good except for one item (hom sui gok). The egg tart was the best. The egg filling was very light and the pastry was very flaky. Overall food was very decent but wish they had more variety.

This place was ok not many baked items. Egg tarts were over 2 dollars! Items were expensive.

3.4 stars I haven't been here in a couple of years and since my mom and I were craving some familiar homey foods, I stopped by to pick up some char siu cheung fun (fresh rice rolls @ $1.50 each). This store is known for them. Overall, a decent meal. They also have other dim sum favorites like ha gow, siu mai, and gai bao. But this trip was just for their rice rolls. Service is straightforward - just tell them what you want. There is free parking beside the shop.

The original Happy Bakery was on Valley and 9th St. in Alhambra.I started going from 1990 - 2004. I moved away from Alhambra in 2004 to Los Angeles. I used to walk 1 minute to Happy Bakery to buy their custard tarts. I finally found them again in 2019 and have been going back for their custard tart. The custard tart is one of the best. Last year, I ordered a mango cake from them. It was delicious. The cream frosting was not too sweet and the cake was moist. The employees are all very nice. The price is not too expensive. Service is fast and accurate. Lots of parking on the street.

o2.o9.2o24 Egg tart run for kid's school potluck for CNY. I was here the afternoon before, and they were out of egg tarts. I asked what time they'll have it today, the lady told me 7:30am. Before we left, my kid really wanted a coconut tart and I got a cream bun. The coconut tart was good but my kid didn't like it, so I had to eat it. The cream in the bun was kind of weird. I never tasted cream in that flavor. It may be good for others but I don't prefer it. I got there around 7:45am today, and there was a line. It's all the retired elders, I guess, getting breakfast for their family. It was very slow...and I was in a hurry. The pain of waiting is no joke. When it was my turn, I asked for 2 dozen, and the lady was like, did you pre-order? I'm like, no. First of all, was I supposed to know I can or have to pre-order? I guess they only serve returns mainly. Anyway, they didn't have enough, so I only got 1 dozen. The egg tarts are $2.25 for one. That is so insane! Is it that good? I didn't get to try it bc they're out. I guess I have been inside the cave and not realizing how much the price went up outside the cave? Well, one thing for sure I am never going back there.

Must spend $15 to use a card... which actually was difficult as everything was reasonably priced. Definitely not a bad thing. I left with a bag full of assorted sweet and savory treats, all of which were delicious. The almond taro bun was by far my favorite of the sweets along with the ham and cheese croissant out of the savory.

I found this store through Google map search, and tried it after reading the ratings. The first time, a grandma helped me get it, and there was no problem. The second time, the salesperson was replaced by an old man, and I got it. It feels like I don’t know how many nights have passed.

Chinese pastry's are my absolute favorite so I picked this bakery on my way home off Yelp to grab a few snacks and it left a lot to be desired unfortunately.ham sui gok is my fave and the ones here are blah, tiniest amount of filling and it's not very flavorful. The filling in the chicken pies is mushy and also lacks flavor. The best thing I had was the bbq pork pie pastry, it was the most flavorful but still 3/5. Overall it's not terrible by any means but don't expect to be impressed.

I read about the reviews and was so excited to go and got there at 6:25am, when she opened her door at 6:30am I walked in with a HUGE SMILE AND VERY POLITE, she was mean and impolite, I guess I was the first customer of the day and she was still sleepy, I woke her up???Bought the Sticky Rice chicken Warp (Law Mike Gike), it smelled like rotten spoiled food that she kept for couple days, I knew it was not fresh, and gave her credit for opened the door at 6:30am and bought that Sticky Rice chicken Warp without complaining! I told myself the Rotten Spoiled smell maybe just the dark green wrapping but the actual food inside should be safe! I told myself that I was just worried too much! So ate the whole Sticky Rice chicken Warp! One hour later I felt very sick like I had food poisoning! I learned I should trust my instincts! I think she kept the Sticky Rice Chicken Wrap for days without putting it back to the refrigerator, it was a REALLY Rotten Spoiled food! Please trust your own instincts, and you were RIGHT in the first place! I learned a huge lesson, NEVER AGAIN!

Enjoyed coming here for the first time, just for the Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice. They had them just made for reheating and they had them already steamed, which I got. Delicious and aromatic. Wish the gentleman who served me was happy like the name of the business. Maybe he was just tired. But reasonably pleasant.

Pretty delicious, we did a quick drop here, and the service was fantastic. They were sold out of a lot by the time we got there but still had some good stuff. The pastry made here are some of the best.

NEVER again!!! This used to be my go to bakery (10+ yrs ago) when they were in their old Alhambra location by Atlantic Blvd. They were one of the few To-Go dim sum places in the area back then and I loved their rice noodle rolls. I've moved out of the area (so have they) and only recently I discovered their new location. Same family crew and ambience is dated. I was excited to reminisce the rice noodle rolls, but unfortunately, they ran out. Not unusual for mid afternoon though. I wasn't going to leave empty handed, so picked up a few things: ham & cheese croissant, mini hot dog buns (pkg of 2), a bun with custard-like filling, curry pie and chicken pie.The next day, my daughter took the ham & cheese croissant to work and said there were a couple dark spots that looked questionable (moldy?), so she threw it away to be safe. I was going to try the mini hot dog buns, but noticed a mold (see picture). Needless to say, that went to the trash and so did the rest of the items I purchased! What a disappointment & waste of money!!! Guess the quality of food and overall ambience aged with the business. As much as I like supporting family businesses, this won't be one anymore :(

Delicious dim sum, great service, and affordable prices!I always get their Shu Mais and Egg Tarts here. They are absolutely delicious and honestly get anything from their hot selection and you don't be disappointed! The service was good and the lady working was informative and polite.Definitely will be coming back
