We came here for the past few years (skipped during the Covid time) and the food has always been good. However, for the past 2 visits, we notice the quality and flavor are not what it used to be. The lobster's flavor is rather bland, the beef is kind of tough, and the portion is smaller than before. I realized shrinkflation is a common issue these day but still disappointed.

Great for large group. Generous portions of food served family style. (Or at least that kind of what it felt like.) Can't remember what we all had but go with server suggestions. We went based on reviews and weren't disappointed. The tab for 7 was under $300. Most excellent!

Great seafood food in SGV. The lobster dish is always good. The squid was not so good this time. The deep fried fish is actually previously frozen. I do like the fact we can make reservations on yelp so we can get private room.

I have been wanting to try Newport Seafood & we went for my birthday.Great quality food & service. Very comfortable homely feeling. We are looking to come back with a larger group so we can order more things. The portions are large. We ended up getting the Newport crab which I think is a great value compared to the lobster. You can also add noodles to it for $10.Followed that by salt and pepper. Shrimp we picked this one because you get the whole shrimp and the head which I really enjoy.Beef loc lac was our closing.Don't forget to get the tea very inexpensive and a great addition to this wonderful meal.

We ordered good for 10 people, the service they way the food came is one by one and very slow it was like 10 dishes and the last one they serve is the fired rice!!! Unbelievable!! The food is salty.. All of them are ignoring you when asked about the fried rice, it was so upsetting, if it was up to me I will not give any tip.

Came with friend and friends for a family style dinner ordered 5 dishes shaking beef -tasty, huge portion size string beans - could be more in flavor, otherwise standard clams - fresh, but sauce could use slightly more flavor one of the 2 fresh fish choice of the day - same as clams* and house special lobsters - amazing, juicy lobsters, (even for the small size portion), tons of green onions - best dish* Servers are attentive and will change plates multiple times over course of dinner total people: 4 cost around: $80ish per person parking on street side* small parking lot or valet??

Ping delivered excellent service to our party! The restaurant maintained a high level of cleanliness, and they suggested calling ahead to reserve a round table. Complimentary orange slices were offered at the conclusion of our meal. Be cautious about parking in their lot, as there may be charges incurred.

The food quality is the best in LA at both their restaurants. Service is also quite good!

Newport seafood delivered an unforgettable dining experience for our big birthday celebration. Despite arriving without reservations, we were accommodated relatively quickly, only waiting around 20 minutes to be seated. Luck was on our side as we were ushered into our own private section, which added a sense of exclusivity to the evening. The bustling atmosphere hinted at the restaurants, popularity, and it was evident that the staff were working tirelessly to keep up with the demand. While the service may have been a bit lacking due to the busy evening, it was quickly overshadowed by the star of the show-THE FOOD. Oh, the food! Every dish that graced our table was a testament to Newport Seafood's culinary prowess. The lobster was a particular, highlight, eliciting satisfied, murmurs, and delighted exclamations from everyone at the table. But it wasn't just the seafood that stole the show; Even the vegetables were prepared with finesse and bursting with flavor. Despite the noise and commotion surrounding us, our focus remained solely on the delectable dishes in front of us. The taste was truly out of this world, transporting our taste buds to new heights of gastronomic pleasure. Leaving Newport seafood, we couldn't help but plan our return visit. The anticipation of indulging in those mouthwatering dishes, once again lingered in our minds, making us eager to revisit the culinary gem. For anyone, seeking a memorable dining experience, filled with exceptional, seafood and vibrant flavors, Newport seafood undoubtedly earns our highest recommendation.

Newport Seafood Restaurant or Tan Cang is a Chinese Vietnamese seafood restaurant. Seafood can be expensive but they have competitive lunch specials daily from 11am-3pm. Valet parking or scarce street parking. I came here with my boyfriend for a late lunch. and we were lucky there was no wait when we arrived. The table was a little weird where I felt really far across from him, but there was plenty of room for the food. We ordered off the lunch menu and shared a few items. The lunch combo comes with white rice and oranges at the end. Nghieu Xao La Que ($15.50 lunch) - Clams with basil sauce. Very flavorful and that basil taste really comes through in the sauce. A few of my clams were a bit sandy but overall the food was good. Do Chay ($13.50 lunch) - A vegetable deluxe and a nice balance to the other protein dishes. There were all sorts of vegetables in this stir fry. I saw mushrooms, carrots, bokchoy, snap peas, baby corn and a bunch of other vegetables. Ca Chien Don ($15.50 lunch) - Deep fried whole fish. They use the tilapia for their lunch fried fish. Super super crispy. I like the way they cut the fish before deep frying to make it easy to dig into and avoiding the bone. I am an expert fish de-boner so I enjoy whole fish dishes like this. It came with a flavorful ginger sweet and sour fish sauce that paired well with the fried tilapia. Having it on the side saved the fish from getting soggy. I'll be honest there wasn't too many items I wanted from their lunch menu but I enjoyed the items we ordered. Not a bad deal in this economy.

A traditional Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Thai-influenced seafood family restaurant with a spacious area. It's really suitable to bring a big family here. This restaurant is clean and comfortable as well.We tried their signature lobster noodles, and for the vegetables, we tried string beans with ground pork.Oh my! Both of them were perfect and delicious! Both came in huge portions. Don't be surprised because we were only a group of two, but we did bring them back to our place and had them for breakfast several mornings ?Do try their lobster noodles! The salty and savory taste of the thick straight noodles with lobster and abundant of leeks. We love it! ❤️When you mix the lobster noodles with the string beans, it's suitable and tasty as well!Totally recommended!
