Horrible service. Actually, service was worse than horrible - it was non existent. Went in, and as others have mentioned no one was in front. Rang the bell. Waited 2 minutes, no one answered. Rang it again, and waited total of 5 minutes. No one came out. You can hear people at the back just talking and socializing. If you want to do business, make sure you have service. If you just want to hang out, just stay home. Worst professionalism ever. Hope they learn or shut down soon.

For a restaurant that serves only 1 item, figured it must be just that good so I decided to try. Service: just like others have said, never anyone standing in front. They hang out in back until you ring the bell and they come out with the look like you just bothered them. When my order finally was handed to me, I said thank you very much and she just turned around and walked away. Nice way to treat customers! Food: $10 gets you a small amount of chicken. The amount of chicken in my meal was almost the same amount as the ginger slices they put in. After removing all the ginger pieces, I stared at an little portion of chicken and like maybe 4 tiny pieces of mushroom. THERE IS A TON OF GINGER. Not coming back. Not worth it sorry.

They just serve one dish with two spice level. That's tells you a story. Although I am not a big fan of chicken but their braised chicken dish will blow your mind. Very flavorful with a distinct flavor profile. Actually I would call it a flavor city. If one is willing to try new kind spicy food, this is a must try. North Chinese cuisine. You can't get it outside China or special world city like Los Angeles. We are lucky to taste such speciality food sitting in LA. Worth it, totally worth it.

Great simple food. Poor service. Customers obviously waiting for food by the counter they drop off orders in sight but don't call out order numbers. Constantly hanging in the back of the kitchen nobody watching front of the store

They give you a good size portion of chicken, mushrooms and ginger with a nice side of rice. Very tasty.

I ordered the Boba Milk Tea Combo. It comes included with the braised chicken and a side of rice. The portion size is pretty big enough for two people but if you are really hungry then it's the perfect portion size for you. Don't underestimate the spicy level because it will sting. Overall, I enjoyed my food and will be coming back to try a less spicier version.

One of my favorite dishes in San Gabriel. Their braised chicken (I recommend nonspicy, the flavors are so perfect this way!) is just incredible. The flavor reminds me of all the incredible complexities of soy sauce without being one-note. It's not salty and it's not over herbed, it's incredibly natural umami if you will from how they braise the chicken so you can taste all those levels of the sauce from how it's cooked. It reminds me of a type of brown gravy with all the complexities and subtleness you'd find at a fine French Restaurant. You can't put your finger on the exact flavor but you know that baby has been cooking for hours and you can't stop eating it. Just order this dish, you'll love it. Ikka Sizzling Pot also serves a braised chicken dish if you want to do a comparison, which is my next stop to try as I hear it is equally delicious. One can never have too many braised chicken options :P This dish is also a good gateway dish for people new to the many restaurants to try in San Gabriel. If you don't know where to begin your SGV food journey, this should be your first stop. For all you spicy lovers out there (like myself) hold back and do the non-spicy version, just try this dish without the spice. It's one of those dishes that works better that way, no joke! Also, people complaining about the size being too small are eating too much. A single serving of this fed 2 grown adults. We split it and it was a perfect lunch serving. Ordering this as a single meal for 1 person is plenty!

Today I ordered the chicken bowl. There are 20 more pieces sliced ginger inside . It tasted like the ginger soup. The original taste was covered by the ginger. It's so terrible . I won't order here any more!

I visit this nice place quite often! This is the best place to have a bite. I visit this spot frequently. The food is excellent, the staff is polite and the charge is decent. I enjoy eating in this spot to have a rich meal.

Pretty authentic braised chicken rice! I traveled a long way from Santa Barbara to LA just want to get some authentic food from my memory of my hometown China... and this is exactly what I want. Braised chicken rice of this style is a very popular dish in China these days. You can literally find one such place in every street of downtown China. The braised chicken rice, the Xiaochi from ShaXian, and the beef noodle soup of Lanzhou style are the top 3 most popular fast food in China. Back in the days when I was in college in Shanghai, I ordered braised chicken rice every 2 or 3 days. I was addicted to its taste and tenderness. It triggered all my good memories in my homeland.

Solid braised chicken! The flavor is deep and amazing. Just the right amount of heat in the original flavor recipe. Its a very simple and straight forward menu. They believe in keeping it simple. Why not 5 stars? well the portions is pretty small for the price you pay.
