Check your sandwiches before you leave. Two of our 5 did not use garlic bread even though we paid for it. Food was good though. Wait was long. Glad to have tried it. Not sure would wait in such a long line again.

It was challenging to find this place since I was arriving via ʙɪʀᴅ scooter rental! If you’re not from San Jose or familiar with the area then simply look for a gathering of people standing outside this business establishment. That’s how you will know you are there because I rode past this spot several times before realizing it was the busy spot.. lol Đức Hương truly did not disappoint as they fully understood the assignment when it comes to this Vietnamese staple. I ordered their #1 Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng, #2 Bánh Mì Đặc Biệt with the latter being reserved for tomorrow’s lunch. And so I naturally ate the aforementioned #1 and it pure magic!! They really know how to make their baguette as it was a perfect combination of thin, crisp crust with a soft, airy texture. Which really complimented their absolutely fresh ingredients and savory flavors.. I was very impressed as it’s been years since I’ve enjoyed a high quality Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng!!! I also tried their refreshing coconut dessert: Thạch Dừa which is a Vietnamese coconut jelly and it was delicious! This establishment is a MUST SEE & TRY especially if you’re passing through San Jose.. ~An

Surprisingly very very delicious. Crispy and firm texture baguette, cucumber, white and red carrots, jalapeño, special sauce (??), grilled pork which is sweet and charcoal flavored. Spicy, sweet, savory, fresh, balanced as a harmony.

One of my top Vietnamese sandwich shop. I think this was the first duc huong sandwich shop in San Jose. They originally had just a cha pork meatloaf place on king road but they didn’t make sandwich there. I would say the sandwich were a lot larger and cheaper when they first open up. Now they are a bit more expensive and slightly shorter. They do put a lot of meat and vegetables in it. Sandwich wise, it either this place or the Bánh mi oven across the street for me.

Visited here twice. The first time was on recommendation from friends when I said I wanted to buy some traditional Vietnamese festive cakes for Tet. They’re surely popular because both times of my visits, there’s always a long line. But, don’t worry, the lines actually moved fast. That just showed how fast the staff are. They had multiple products, from Vietnamese famous Banh Mi to VN traditional cakes and snacks. I tried a few of them and they were on point. Pretty authentic and delicious ?On our second visit, we tried their popular Banh Mi. There were many types, but we went for the classic, Banh Mi Cha Lua. It brought back the taste of our home country. We’ve been away from VN for a long time and we really missed home. This brought back memories! We’ll come back next time to try their Cn iced coffee.Vegetarian options: They have veggie dishesParking: Free parking lots in the mall but limited. We had to go around to look for vacant spot or wait for other cars to leave.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrance and roadside

**3.5 Stars**Duc Huong is extremely popular. There’s always a line, especially now that they’ve blown up on IG and TT, but it thankfully moves fast.I’d say the baguette quality is very high and I found the bread warm, crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The quality of the ingredients and cold cuts is solid too, especially given the high turnover.I found the pickled vegetables, condiment spread and the pâte to be lacking. I could barely taste it in the cold cuts and the number 1 has no pâte.I buy tubs of pâté from Thanh Huong (Senter Road which is now closed. The Capitol location near Milpitas isn’t quite the same) No one is buying pate at Duc Huong.Takeout only. Credit cards accepted.

I bought one to share but as we were eating it, we turned back to line up to buy 2 more - what an amazing Cold Cut Banh Mi!What I had:- Cold Cut Banh Mi- Iced CoffeePRO:BANH MI:- HUGE Banh Mi IS a meal- Crispy French bread (most important component)- The best banh mi I've ever had and I lived near many "Little Saigons"- Big slices of premium meat - I have never had such thick sliced cold cut meat at any sandwich place, Vietnamese or otherwise- Wonderful pate- Terrific balance of acidity- Fresh cucumber and jalapeños- Cheap for the size at $9ICED COFFEE:- Lovely chicory taste, so very nice- Potent! Liquid TNT - I didn't sleep that night - LOL!CON:- Always a lineup (but it does move)- Hours are limited- Must pay attention when your number is called- They run out of baguettes to take home FAST (total sadness)SUMMARY:I can't wait until I can come back and try some other sandwiches on the menu.Where to start? It's a meal and it's perfect in taste, texture and price!I even love the way they packed the sandwich. I know that's not a critique on the food but it shows that this is a serious place to eat made by people who take their craft seriously.Top if off with the best Vietnamese iced coffee I've tasted had since my very 1st one. Eye rolling liquid perfection.NOTE: I never take these type of sandwiches home to eat. The bread will always lose it's crispy texture because of the wet ingredients. Neither of us cared and we both got one to go each (no sharing this time). I had mine the next day and except for the bread losing crisp, it was 85% as good as the day I tried it.Perfect cheap eats - Run to get a Banh Mi here NOW!

Freshly baked bread for their bahn mi which is nice and soft and good flavor and portions for the filling. I tried the bbq pork and the combo and I normally prefer the combo but the bbq pork really blew me away. They also have other Vietnamese treats and snacks and you can also just buy their in-house bread. They have the buy 4 get 1 free promo and it’s definitely worth it. The lines may look long but they move very fast, I don’t think we waited more than 10 minutes for 10 sandwiches
