The staff is friendly and restaurant is clean but the food is disappointing. This is my first time dining at a Kura Sushi outside of Japan and I was very disappointed with the quality of sushi. The negitoro temaki was minced, the negitoro was somewhat cubed and very cold on the warm rice. The negitoro gunkan did not look appetizing as it was not minced to almost look watery/runny. See photo of Philly roll with the smallest piece of salmon on top that I’ve ever seen. Hot green tea was ~$3 when it’s usually free or very nominal. And overall the menu was very limited and very Americanized with many “California” type rolls. Sad there was no natto. 7 plates came out to ~$31. I would have been better off going to a Japanese supermarket for sushi.I was excited to see Kura Sushi in the US but I will not be dining here again.

Arrive when they open. You have to sign in on a pad and they will open the door and let you in. Got seated and was able to order food right away. Food was order and came out quick. Food on the machine seem kinda old and didn't have enough rolls so you have to order from the tablet first. After people starting to show up, you can see they started to fill the conveyor belt with food

If you want to come here, just for the experience then I would say definitely give it a try however, if you are here for the food, I agree with a lot of the reviewers here that it’s not the best sushi. Very, very, very thin pieces of fish on the Nigiri, same with the sashimi. The spicy tuna just isn’t right. So many, many different places in the bay area that has amazing sushi and sadly this is not one that I would consider returning.

Honestly was surprised by the quality of the fish. My favorite were the seared scallop, yuzu and jalapeno sweet shrimp, and salmon. We mainly ordered on the tablet so it would be fresh and the food arrived really fast. Especially cause we came in for lunch on a Monday. Only down side is that it was a bit pricey but that's expected.

This place is more about the experience than the food. It's pretty fun watching all the sushi on the conveyor belt and putting your empty plates into the 'slot machine' for a prize--they definitely gamify eating. The sushi itself was mediocre, not the worst I've had but not the best either. Despite the long lines, they move fast. I had 10 groups in front of me, but I was seated in 20 minutes.

Love the experience, highly recommend, clean, polite staff, good menu, I loved the matcha and strawberry mochi ice cream. If you're a sushi lover, I recommend cha cha's sushi (on Capitol Expressway SJ) for taste, Kura for experience

One of my husband and I to go places, we usually join the waitlist on the Kura app. They offer seasonal items as well as you can order on the tablet or pick on the conveyor belt. My favorite is the garlic ponzu salmon and it comes out great each time I order, each plate costs around $3.75 which can add up quickly. Parking is limited since there are many restaurants within the plaza as well. Ambiance is friendly and there is plenty of seating available!

Came here for lunch and there were no wait. It’s pretty much a self service where everything is ordered through the tablet next to the table and the food comes through the delivery belt or a robot. The food is good and great ambient!

The concept of this place is so neat, it really is fun just being surrounded by so many conveyor belts filled with sushi and other dishes. If you ordered something specific from the tablet you received your order on a speed track, and your beverages are delivered via robot. The plate counting system is also very fun with a prize coming with every 15 plates, which may or may not have contributed to us grabbing a little more than we should have. While the novelty was certainly interesting, the food was somewhat inconsistent. The salmon toro and a couple of the rolls were very tasty. However simple things like the yellowtail and mackerel tasted a little off, nothing too bad just the quality was lesser than what I was hoping. The price also really added up, which I suppose is to be expected when you're going through a bunch of small plates very quickly. The experience was definitely worth trying and we had fun looking around at all the novelty, just wish the food always matched up with everything else.
