For Lunar New Year, my wife and I "discovered" a really super Chinese restaurant within walking distance of home! May Flower, at Saratoga and DeMille. Small but tidy, the food was amazing. Huge menu including many unusual/exotic dishes and everything was top-notch.

repost from 9/6/2021Visiting my Aunt in San Jose (I am from San Francisco), we were in the mood for Chinese take out. I normally have a high tolerance for take out; as it can never be as good as dining "in". First of all, I will give high marks for the Sesame Chicken, Fried Fish Fillets and Salt and Pepper pork chops. Pot Stickers were OK, but the skin was very thick.HOWEVER - Terrible chicken salad. This is the only reason I am writing this review; I was actually shocked! when I opened the container that cost us $9.95.In general, Chinese Chicken Salad should HAVE sliced lettuce, sliced red cabbage, shredded carrots, green onion, sliced almonds, with "chunks" of chicken, and maybe some fried noodles mixed in. A dressing that has a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, sugar etc...What did May Flowers Chicken Salad have? None of the above (except for the chicken).OF COURSE there are variations in the ingredients, and I am happy to try every restaurants Chinese Chicken Salad, but the "core" ingredients are usually always the foundation of a good Chicken Salad. The overall "visual" of Chinese Chicken Salad is a julienned mixture of vegetables. Please see the picture below; this is what we received. I think the prep time was 1 minute, enough time to make the chicken "bits" hot, and to break off a chunk of Iceberg lettuce.Come on May Flower!!!! You can do way better than this. Are you actually delivering this to your Customers in the restaurant? I am not a RABBIT; and to charge $9.95 for this is absolutely ridiculous. Please do better. This is a $9.95 Chinese Chicken Salad. Probably $1 worth of chicken and $0.25 of iceberg. This is a $9.95 Chinese Chicken Salad. Probably $1 worth of chicken and $0.25 of iceberg.

Food is not bad ! The cost is little higher then I am willing to pay for the size of the dishes. I had the shrimp with egg whites. I had about 10 pieces of small shrimps and on a bed of massive size of broccoli not cook the way that I like (soft). I have been contemplating to go back because it is really close to where I live.

They have a shelter in place special where you can get 3 items for $32 but keep in mind it is cash only and the menu is in Chinese. Also tried the tea smoked duck since it's a common dish here hu

Nice small hole in the wall restraurant. Budget friendly. They were serving lots of DoorDash orders or To Go orders. We sat inside and the food came quickly. Ppt stickers were different, but the Mongolian beef and salted fried fish were great

So apparently this place is very famous in the Milpitas area, but the south side of San Jose is not as good as one would expect. The food is nice and delicious but was missing something. The waiter/owner was so sweet and attentive at all times. The meals are served fast and in good size portions to share. The prices are fair and you can come back to visit and try all the menu items because they are worth the price and they are tasty but I do wish they had more sauce or an umf factor.

Wow this restaurant is one of my new favorites in the Bay Area. I didn’t want rate this place 5 stars to move it further away from 3.5 stars but everything about this restaurant is excellent. The service is super friendly and quick and the food is top tier. The honey walnut shrimp is one of the best I have ever had and their mushroom and green beans were also very delicious. Highly recommend coming here!

This Chinese restaurant is quite clean and homey, with very reasonable pricing, with good flavors on a wide variety of dishes. This is a terrific choice for a family gathering, especially with small kids, who may eat a lot but doesn't need Michelin level food.I usually do takeouts here and the chef always has the food on time. Highly recommend a try on Chong Qing Spicy Fried Chicken!

We come here often because my in-laws love this place. I used to think the food was decent. But this time, the dishes we chose were pretty good. Especially the fried fish fillet.
