The best desserts I’ve ever had! Baklava, cookies, and speciality Canelé - lovely family business, great to support local.

Baklava's been one of those sweets that left an impression on me but never been able to replicate the experience elsewhere since my pre-covid travel days in Istanbul. I was drawn to try some at the Sunnyvale Arts and Wine fest and oh my, it was just like how I remembered when I first tried it at Karaköy Güllüoğlu with a cup of Turkish coffee and tea to follow. Just the right amount of moist sugary nuttiness. Brings back so much joy and memories. Must try if you're craving your traveling days! And don't miss out on their canele if you're yearning for some French pastries instead.

Discovered them at the farmer's market and had to try the baklava because its one of my favorite desserts! Loved that the baklava was in cute bite-sized portions which makes it easy to share. It was perfectly syrupy and sweet without being overwhelming and loved the toasty nuttiness! I also felt like the syrup had some fruity/floral notes in the beginning which was really unique. The best part was that the inside was really moist (I find a lot of baklava to have a bunch of syrup on top but the inside can be kind of dry). Highly recommend trying them out and can't wait to try other things they have!

Been craving some CANELE DE BORDEAUX (French custard cake) and recently bought some in Oakland which (to me) were a fail...I won't say complete fail as the bakery graciously refunded me stating "while this is the first complaint received on the caneles we will of course refund you for them" but the vendor made it seem like in America were used to a lighter color whereas in Frances and Japan it's done darker...oh I googled that statement and didn't find one pic that looked like mine aka burnt! Since I still had the canele crave, I found Nousa's via Yelp and ordered online. OH MY CANELE goodness! These are amazing and everything that I had hoped and expected from a proper canele...crunchy exterior (almost a thin golden shell) from the caramelized sugar, soft, creamy and custardy interior with a nice vanilla flavor! A 'bit burnt' done properly unlike the other place I went to (see the side-by-side pic). Amazingly addictive! Bought some ORIGINAL BAKLAVA ROLLS for others but I sneaked a bite and those were wonderful as well! Crunchy, bite-sized, buttery, flaky sugary layers but not overly sweet with fresh pistachios! Heck, why not get some Nana's BUTTER COOKIES while we're at it...melt in your mouth, buttery deliciousness with a light coating of powdered sugar ! It's funny I keep saying I'm not into sweets but for those who don't like overly sweet desserts these are it...lightly sweet and more about varying textures and flavors which I love. All I have to say is if you live in the South Bay, you gotta try her caneles, baklava rolls and cookies or you're missing out on this hidden gem! ** Support this small, family-owned business! ** Marleine, the owner/baker delivered them personally which is truly appreciated. Not only does she make a 5-star product, but wow talk about customer service!!! No storefront but mainly Art and Wine festivals and Artisan Food events which unfortunately, are not happening during these covid times! She sells online and at the Saratoga Farmers Market! CANELE....CANELE...I heart NOUSA'S CANELES!!! Thank you Marleine! You made my day!

Best desserts ever! Super sweet family run business with incredibly unique and perfected recipes. The baklava is a staple. The Canelé is to die for! They make it better than the French do. Do not hesitate to try their sweets!

My fiance LOVES baklava, so I approached their tent at Treasure Fest on Treasure Island while a Middle Eastern man yelling out into the passing crowd, "Would you like a sample?" As I approach the counter, I give him a smile and look to see what kind of sweets they have. This RUDE man said, "not you. I wasn't talking to you. You can't get a sample." For one, I knew he was offering it to someone behind me. Shocked by his remark, I decide to give him the benefit of the doubt and think that maybe he was trying to humor me. Seconds later, my fiancé who had not heard his rude remark approaches with excitement (because he loves baklava) and asks if he can sample baklava, which were cut up in tiny pieces on serving trays on the counter in front of us. The man says "No. You can't. Do you want to buy?" so I say, "well how will we know what it tastes like?" He responds, "you don't need to know." Immediately, I was turned off by his cold shoulder and just shocked at how rude he was. Was he being stingy with samples assuming we wouldn't buy anything because we did not have any bags in our hands (yet) or is it because he assumed we didn't know/appreciate Middle Eastern dessert? Why make samples if you're not going to let visitors try?

We came across this shop when we were in one of the wine and art festivals on castro street, mountain view. We reluctantly bought two boxes , one as a gift for our friend and one for ourselves. Man , their baklavas are tooo good. Just the right amount of crunchiness, and moist inside. Its so hard to resist yourself not to eat these. These come in tiny pieces so you think one piece should be sufficient for a day, but why dont you try yourself and see if you can really resist from eating these.

Best canelé I've had in the US, the only one that tasted similar to what I had in the Loire Valley.

Bought a box of mini-bakhlavas at a food and art fair. Delicios and just the perfect size so you don't overindulge (you might want to, though). Getting ready to make a trip to this place for some more!
