Had such SUCH a good time two weekends ago with my friends!!! Katlyn was our server/bottle girl, she was so sweet and made all of our experiences so good. Also was surprised by the music, it was a mix of older 2000s rnb and pop songs now--honestly way WAY better than the normal club music I'm used to. Had so much fun, I'll be back for sure on a night Katlyn is working :,)

Man, this spot is straight-fire! RCADE knows how to throw down the sickest parties in San Jose. If you're in town, you cannot skip Rec Room. Trust me, it's worth

Some wannabe DJ Khaled lookin bouncer always tryna make an extra 5 bucks at the door. I got bottle service about $400 and this same dude started beef with my boy over some female. Don't recommend this place they're weird over there.

I went with four other people on a Thursday (5/25) around 9pm. We showed up right when the bar opened and they took us upstairs; downstairs was closed. They were having half of drinks which is always great. When we walked in, there was literally no one else in the bar except for staff. It was completely empty.Four of us order the same thing, but one person wanted a separate check. We waited patiently about 20 minutes for the bartender to make our drinks; not sure why it took so long but we were patient. When it was time for the last person to order on a separate check, the bartender asked if we were all together, and my friend said yes, but clarified that he wanted a separate check in a different drink. The bartender immediately caught an attitude, raising her voice and yelling, asking why we didn't all order together and complaining that it was too much work. Again, remember we are the only people in the bar at this point. Five people total. After yelling at him, she looked at me and asked why we all didn't order together. I just shrugged because I was so shocked at how angry this woman was that we didn't all order at one time. She was mad that she had to make another drink after she had just made the other four. It wasn't even the same drink so I'm not sure why she was so mad. I let it go, maybe she was having a bad day. It was weird because moments earlier she was being very nice.About 30 minutes later, we had all sat down and we're drinking our drinks, they were delicious by the way. They were playing R&B and my friend suggested I go and suggest a song to the DJ. At this point there were about 15 people in the space. Still not crowded at all and basically empty. I dance my way up to the DJ, and I'm waiting for him to finish a conversation. I stood there for about five minutes and once the DJ stopped talking, he just carried on and didn't look up at me at all or acknowledge me in anyway. After a couple minutes I caught on that he was ignoring me and I went back to go grab my things so my friends and I could leave. At the time I didn't know that some DJs don't like it when people approach them and asked to request song, but I still thought it was unprofessional to ignore me instead of just politely declining to accept a song request. Due to extremely rude service from the employees, it's safe to say my friends and I won't be returning again.

security needs to be fired and a lawsuit is coming for using excessive force on their customers. jumping a customer is never the answer. pushing a girl to the ground is never okay. lawyer will be contacted. fire the thugs that you have for security!

The staff at this establishment is dangerous and unprofessional to say the least. This place needs to be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS! I will never return here after I saw the security staff jump a patron last night and shove a girl to the ground. I even asked the person for pictures to add to this review! The managment needs to take immediate action.

Heard so much about this place and decided to go for the first time recently. Came here with a group of friends and we did not have a great time. A few in our group were asked to leave rudely for no reason. Security should COMMUNICATE, not accuse and act so hard. There are certain situations where they need to be serious, but this was uncalled for. 1 star for having self serve water available.

Quite honestly, I'm having a difficult time understanding how this place has four stars. I've been here once before, but immediately left. Rec room is incredibly small for the amount of people they let in. More importantly, compared to other bars in dtsj, this is quite ghetto and I don't say that lightly. Anyway, the reason why I left was because I felt someone was gonna shoot up the place lolHOWEVER, last night, a really good dj was spinning and my friends and I were willing to risk it all to see him lmao We were fortunately put on guest list so we didn't have to pay cover. My friends and I needed to use the restroom and we discovered that there's a SINGLE unisex stall for the entire place. Whose bright idea was that? Because I'd like to have a word. We waited nearly half an hour bc the line was so long. Then I had a brilliant idea - let's go use a bathroom at another bar and come back! But security stopped us and said there are no in and out privileges, which is unheard of. No other bars in dtsj have this policy. And I'd understand if it was a super nice bar, but it's NOWHERE close to that. They would've made us pay cover if we did leave. So we ended up staying. Finally, security decided to open up bathroom stalls underground, which was super sketch and quite a walk. Still had to wait, but it moved much faster. Security is INCREDIBLY rude and on a power trip. Several of my friends got kicked out by security for no apparent reason. Sounds like this is an issue from reading other reviews. I'm only giving one star because it's the only option Yelp will allow. Even then, one star is quite generous for my experience. 10/10 NEVER coming back. I will never understand why people willingly go here.

Was at Rec Room standing towards the back and a security worker came up to me aggressively and sajd I had to leave. Confused, I asked why and I was rudely confronted being told "because I said so", "yes, you need to get out now", "you need to leave". Minutes later I was escorted back in because apparently "they got the wrong guy." Definitely killed the vibe for me and I couldnt find my friends after that.
