This little gem just opened up near my house and I could not be happier. I've had their food twice now and both times they did not disappoint. I really wish they offered masala dosa during lunch because that's usually when I like to eat it! You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Also very surprised by their cauliflower appetizer! Chefs kiss!

We were a large group so got to try few items and they were all fantastic: mini idly, paneer kizhi parotta, masaal vadai, bajji, kavuni arisi chakkarai pongal. Kizhi parotta was very soft. My 2 year old picky eater enjoyed mini idly and kizhi parotta, which says a lot. Place is very clean and service is good. Highly recommend and will be going back for sure.

We were pleasantly surprised with this new place on the block. The menu is pretty simple. We started with 2 appetisers- the cauliflower malli fry and the road style mushrooms, ordered the thali (veg chattichoru) for a part of 4 and also paneer khizi paratha. The thali came out first. It was a very interesting presentation- in a large bowl. The food tasted grah and flavourful. Next came our appetiser. It was okay but by the time this came out we were already finished with our thali (almost 30 mins after ordering it) And then came out the paratha dish- it was just okay. I wasn't a fan of the flavours plus I was already full by this time. Our other starter hadn't come out yet so we asked if we could cancel and they politely obliged. Since they are new they still have a few kinks to work out. On the pricier sid for sure!

Being a south indian, would definitely will rate this place a 4/5 for the quality, quantity of food. Very close to being authentic tamil sappadu! We ordered the Vijaywada Biriyani, chatti Sorru and Vazhakai Bhaji.. All too good. The only downside is that it appears that they are not able to manage the crowd as much!

Food was excellent. I am writing this to plead to the owners to kindly teach some etiquette to the servers. All the servers were really nice and cooperating. There was just one woman who suddenly came up to our table and infront of everyone told that my 9year old boy did not behave with her. He was jumping etc and should go to good school. My son is autistic and has difficulty in waiting quietly. He was getting impatient and moving a lot. His hands accidentally touched her as he was so much jumping and moving. My son came home and asked me, mommy am i so bad that she asked me to go good school. He felt humiliated as that one uneducated woman did not even understand where should she complain and exactly what should she complain about. My son is not visibly autistic and hence it is not apparent that he would need accomodation even in the restaurant. After this every food tasted bitter to me. She did not even understand how a mom feels. Even if the food is good, unfortunately I would never go to that restaurant again. This is not India. People do get to eat here. If the services are not professional, good tasting food really does not mater much.

Rukmani and team are beyond beautiful. Food is consistently great. I waited almost 2 months after they opened to post. ( I eat there frequently). Food is fresh and tasty. Keep it up Rukmani. Hope you all grow into a large group of companies throughout the bay area. Waiting to see u up in Redwood City, Dublin, Milpitas or Fremont among other locations you already know.

Customer service and crowd management is very poor. This isn’t a recommended place to go if you are a bigger family or more than one family going to dine in at a time. They have limited seating space and the person managing the seating will clearly not help you get seats together. The disappointing part is, when asked about the wait time, they are clueless about when or whether you will get a seat and they do not take any effort to get that arranged even after waiting for nearly an hour which is quite off putting. The person at the front desk seemed very unwelcoming both the times we visited the place. The food is good here so we’d really hope they level up their game and get better at service management and mainly interactions with people. When a customer enquires about the wait time, they should at least be able to give a general time frame and shouldn’t be saying that they don’t know if they can arrange seating or not (for context, our visit was approx 2-3 hours before restaurant closing and not nearing the closing time)

Great change to the South Indian meal experience in South Bay. Here's what we tried, Satti Choru - A bowl with seeraga samba rice, kootu, Poriyal and kozhambu over it. Sambar, Rasam and Curd are also offered in small cups on the side. Every dish was delicious, homely, mildly spiced and non greasy. A bit pricey (17$) for the portion size and lack of dessert. Overall 4.5/5. Cauliflower Malli Fry (5/5) - a mouthwatering snack. Balanced with spices, this is hard to resist after a bite. Kizhi Parotta (16ish$) - 3/5 Wrapped in a banana leaf Mellow in flavor, this parotta dish wasn't upto mark. It was neither Kothu parotta nor flaky parotta. More like a Kerala dish and not a chettinad one. Would love to go back for the meal and Roadside Kaalan.

Restaurant staff handles customer queue very poorly. If you are group of 2+ I would not recommend this restaurant. There is no system. We were party of 2, waited for 30min and the lady who takes down names told us that she will won’t be able to give is seat so if we want we can order food online. Restaurant should pay attention to its capacity and how much they can accommodate in given time, there is no need to waste customers time

We experienced bad service here, we had to wait for 30 mins in between starters and main course. We had to remind them about our order. We ordered medium spice but it was very bland, dosa was cold and one of the rumali roti was not cooked properly.

We had a great time today here! Great food, great presentation and great staff! The food was so fresh and so pure! The ladies were friendly very and genuinely hospitable. Decent decor and fast service. The chutney and vada in chitti chor was so good.
