This place used to be my favorite to go for Sushi, but lately they have nothing but rolls, cheap rolls and pricy. It's going to be my last time there

Food was good, spacious and clean interior, drinks had free refillCons: very limited options on the train, when I asked to refill one roll on the train, it never happened and I never got that roll on the train again! Prices are not reasonableVegetarian options: Very limitedParking: Plenty of spots

Great sushi! Tried their california roll, Bay Area Rush Hour roll, and 49ers Roll. The rolls are a little smaller than usual but are fresh and taste amazing!

Really fresh Sushi! Went there for lunch, sat at the bar. The boats were chugging along with not much updates since we were the only ones sitting at the bar. Oh well. But the chef was happy to prepare a la carte sushi which was excellent, including display which so often gets neglected. Especially the ika was great, this is one of my top indicators for good sushi. Very often you get this rubbery tasteless stuff, this one was almost melting on the tongue, great taste. Overall top 20% I would say but somewhat expensive a la carte.

Food was just ok. Prices at the bar are high for what you get. $5 for jello. $5 for 3 slices of california or 3 put stickers. Atmosphere got better from what it used to be but prices are unjustifiable for the quality and quantity of food you get.

I never really find many sushi boat restaurants anymore (but a similar concept is being spread with kura with their conveyor system), but this one in south san jose is still one if the traditional sushi boat restaurants you'd find in the mid 2000's to mid 2010's! You can choose to sit around the sushi boats or sit at a booth as you wish. Like all other sushi boat restaurants, you grab little plates of sushi and depending on the plate it was served on, that was the price. Prices of sushi on the boats ranged from $4.30 to $10. On a lunch day like this, not too many sushi were on the boats unfortunately... maybe it might be more popular at dinner or weekends. If the sushis on the boat dont appeal too well, there are many more options available through their huge menu! There are teriyaki plates to bento boxes to even a unique burrito sushi roll style dish! I ordered a bento box and the beef tasted pretty good minus the sauce which felt flat. It came with soup and salad and rice as well as a orange and dumpling! The main highlight of the bento box though was the tempura! It was really crispy and well breaded and fried! I loved the sauce it came with as well! $20Service was very minimal and most interaction i had was just the payment as soon as i was done. But the place seemed to be well staffed and got around to anyone needing refills, etc.Overall it was a pretty good experience! Although the bento box kinda felt a little overpriced...

Best testament I can give about this place as I missed being able to go there. But in the past used to enjoy going here at least once a month for lunch. A nice simple bento box or something always made for a good lunch. Definitely worth giving this place a try.

My daughter's favorite SJ sushi boat restaurant has closed, so we went out of our way to come here.Quality/Quantity - Two Piece Tamago Sushi, Egg Sushi - Good, made fresh for my daughter. Two Pieces Inari Nigiri - My daughter couldn't wait for me to take my picture, so I got a quick picture before her last bite. One of her favorites sushi, but for $8.50...CA Roll - From the sushi boat. It was just okay. Not good or bad. Typically CA rolls are pre-made in the back kitchen with these types of businesses, so the freshness is not 100%.Crunch Roll - From the sushi boat, it looks better than it tasted. Again, not good or bad. This is how they "get" you, while you wait for your special order sushi, you grab a few places off the boats...Eight Pieces Unlimited K.O. Roll - Our first special roll and we were wowed! Much more onions than I expected, but that is okay as I like onions and was NOT on a date, LOL.Eight Pieces Go Warriors Roll; in action. - Another hit! And sitting at the sushi boat we got to see the "show" of them making our rolls fresh in front of us.Eight Pieces San Jose Fire Roll - We were full by this time, but still had to try this roll, especially after the waitress suggested it. Set on Fire, call 911. Fire burned for like 10 minutes, perfect if this was a winter night, LOL. My daughter said she needed marshmallows. Specials advertised, but they were the same as on the menu.Happy Hour is also available.Atmosphere - Good size restaurant. Small lobby for waiting. One of the few sushi boat restaurants left in SJ, or anywhere...Clean bathrooms.Semi private rooms.Open 7 days a week from 11am or noon to 9pm or 9:30pm.Service - Good, especially the two guys working the sushi boat. Such hard workers and still being able to take care of the customers on the tables and boat. Make sure you take care of the people that take care of you!Price - Sushi boat plates start at $4.25 to $10.95. See menu for all other prices. Our dinner came out to $105 + tip.Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 2000 and to Roy, the head chef since 2005.

This is a Japanese restaurant with thick sashimi. The jalapeno fried boom menu is unique and delicious. Boat flow system and Tempura,Fried ice cream,is fun too.Kid-friendliness: High chair and booster.
