Was craving bahn mi for lunch and decided to try Thanh Huong! I got the grilled pork, which was filled with a lot of meat! The pork was juicy, tender, and flavorful. The baguette was very warm, fluffy yet crispy; it tasted very fresh imo! I also got an iced coffee, which tasted alright to me. It wasn't bad at all, but I was expecting it to taste stronger and more concentrated. My total came out to be a little under $15 for the banh mi and iced coffee. The service was extremely quick! There definitely was a language barrier though, because the lady didnt seem to understand some of the things I was saying, but the food was good. The store is located in a tiny plaza with some parking available. The store itself is pretty spacious with seats to dine in. They also offer a wide variety of foods and prepackaged foods, which I will definitely try next time. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and enjoyed my meal.

I love coming here for a quick bite! I've been coming here for years. My Mom used to love coming for their fresh baguettes. I LOVE their Banh Cuon- it comes already packaged. My hubby comes here for the Vietnamese sandwiches- he loves that the baguettes are always fresh! They've got so many other snacks and desserts -- I really can't name them all because I don't know them all (I'm not Vietnamese, sorry). As you enter into this establishment, to the left is various cooked food dishes. I imagine this is considered fast food:) it's not a place to sit down and hang out, although there a few tables for you to eat and go. Never had any issues with customer service- they ask what you want and they ring it up! Nothing complicated. I did want to mention that they take credit cards now. For the longest time, they didn't accept credit cards, but now they do! I'll be back. I always get a craving for their snacks!

I've been here many times and have tried several different things. From the pre-made dishes to the sandwiches and noodle soups...it's all really delicious and economical. My favs are the grilled pork banh mi, grilled chicken banh mi, spring rolls, egg rolls, bun rieu, banh Xeo, and Bo Kho. I think they blacked out all the prices on their menu because they keep having to increase them to keep up with inflation while their menu items have stayed the same all these years. As of this post on 4/7/24, a Banh Mi is $8. I'm pretty sure it will increase soon. So go get yourself a delicious banh mi on your next lunch break!

TL;DR: - a hole-in-the-wall establishment with authentically made and modestly salted dishes. soups are a hit or miss but overall it's a great place to stop by for homey Vietnamese food on a dime. parking: - a small parking lot but it's more of a take-out spot so parking spots quickly open up. wait time: - about 5 minutes. ambiance: - a hole-in-the-wall establishment that services your usual Vietnamese dishes and treats. food: [Worth It] - ca kho: perfectly salted! would get this again if in the area. - beef stew: came with carrots, tendon, and beef! very hearty and filling. - baguettes: freshly made and a steal of a price. - pickled carrots and radish (dua mon): these are traditionally made to be eaten with the banh tet. this by far was one of the best dua mons I've ever tasted! And it comes with a glass mason jar too. - stir-fried tofu: well-marinated and tasty. - stir-fried bamboo shoots: not overly marinated as you can taste the fresh bamboo shoot. - stir-fried chayote: crunchy and made for a great side. - chicken drumsticks: well marinated and cooked! definitely one of my favorite dishes here so far! [Good to Try Once] - canh chua: a bit too bland but great if you're just looking for a side soup for a stronger meal. - banh tet: sadly I've had better as the meat here was minimal and dry. - thinly sliced thit kho: this was dry but well marinated

Have loved this place for years. My go to for banh mi. Also like all the snacks I find. They offer pho. If anything, you need to also try their Vietnamese coffee.Parking: Probably about 12 spots. Easy enough to get in and out. Sometimes busy but moves quickly.

Good place for a quick lunch. Bahn mi is pretty big. I got the grilled pork with an egg. Pork is flavorful and the egg is so worth adding. Bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also got a coffee, which was nice and strong. I've never tried the nem bo (raw beef) before so i got a tray to try and they're oddly addicting. I think it's the fish sauce flavor. Got a tray of the spring rolls as well and the peanut sauce is really good and got a nice spice kick, but the wrapper was a little hard. Still good though. There are no prices on anything and 5 items came out to $42. They take card though. Overall, decent place to grab and go.

Great Vietnamese sandwiches, and you want to add the fried eggs to your sandwiches! Crunchy French baguettes, generous portion, and very TASTY!

Solid banh mi. Ordered ahead to pick up a few sandwiches to eat for our hike to mission peak. Quick pick up. They also had other Vietnamese snacks on the counter.

These sandwiches are huge! I nearly turned around while driving there because the road was so bumpy, but this small mini plaza was so worth the trip. Each sandwich is $8 each- I wasn't sure if it was because I paid in cash or if they just don't charge tax there. Regardless- so much value for the buck. The place is pretty large and there's a good amount of seating if you want a quiet place to eat your lunch. I called ahead to place my order while I was driving, and within my 15 minute commute, it was ready by the time I arrived. I ordered the BBQ pork with pate sandwich. I love BBQ pork in rice dishes, so I wanted to give it a try since it was my first time at this place. I think the meat was a little too rich to go inside of a banh mi, but I thought it was pretty good nonetheless! They give you so many veggies that it never really feels like the meat is overwhelming. I'm not too big of a fan of banh mi in general because of the bread that usually scrapes the roof of my mouth, but this bread was absolutely perfect. It wasn't too soft or soggy, but it wasn't crispy to the point of hurting my gums after a few bites. Next time, I'll probably try the ham or the steamed pork with pate just so that I can try all their different sandwiches. I'll definitely be back!

Authentic Banh Mi and authentic no frills Vietnamese coffee, will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Decent vegetarian banh mi, I feel I’ve had better in SF but love the authenticity of the store! They have a lot more Vietnamese speciality foods and drinks. I need take one of my Vietnamese friends here to explain me what each thing is :) and whether I can eat it haha. Really cool place!

Great banh mi place in East san jose. Prices have gone up since 6 but still decent value compared to other restaurants. They also take cards, unlike a lot of other banh mi places.Bbq pork banh mi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: still good as ever with crispy bread and tender meat. Just a solid banh mi that I don't think you can go wrong with.
