I love how you can watch the chefs cook your food in the woks in their "open" kitchen. The only downside is I smelled pretty smoky afterwards. I stopped by in a group of 2 on a Saturday night for a small dinner. It wasn't too crowded inside with many free tables, although there were many people who picked up delivery/takeout orders during my meal. We got the mapo tofu ($13.99), stir-fried string beans with pork ($15.99), and a bowl of rice each ($2/ea). The mapo tofu came on this sizzling plate that kept it hot the whole time! The tender pieces of tofu were swimming in a savory sauce that had a numbing kick. The pieces of pork in this dish were pretty small and added some umami flavor to the dish, but the tofu was the star of the show. I am glad we ordered rice to soak up all the tasty sauce! The stir-fried string beans had a lot of peppery flavor and were nicely blistered on the surface. Although the string beans were glistening on the surface they did not feel or taste too greasy. The pork in this dish was saltier than in the mapo tofu and at times was a bit too salty for me. I wouldn't have minded the dish without the pork and might even try ordering it without pork next time. The servers are kind and attentive. The seating area is not the fanciest but this is a great spot for a casual and tasty meal!

Overall, the food was nice. We ordered the Chicken Chowmein and Cashew Chicken, and the portion sizing was good for the price. The food was great, and toddler-friendly in terms of spice. The servers were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I'd say is that the inside of the restaurant is sparsely decorated and could use more decorations and charm. The facility is average in cleanliness, including the bathroom. It's a nice place, but it needs improvement in interior.

Past by this place multiple times and finally get to try it. I like their open kitchen, everything is clean and organized. Service was attentive and accommodating to my 2 kids.We ordered salt n pepper pork rib, cashew and shrimp, golden sand fish, and sesame balls- salt n pepper pork rib - good and crunchy, it is served over a bed of fries!-cashew and shrimp - is good.- golden sand fish - it is a little spicy! Wasn't expecting that. It was flavorful and I enjoyed the pickle veg in the dish.

This is my first time here, probably due to the long weekend. During lunchtime, there was only one table available. We ordered pig ear, which was pretty good. However, the other dishes were just okay. In particular, the noodles were too soft and lacked flavour. The total cost for four dishes and a drink was around £75. The service was great! Later, my friend informed me that I had ordered the wrong dish. Perhaps I will return to try other options!

Visiting from New Orleans and discovered this hidden gem in Chinatown. We had the Chili Crab and shrimp. Vincent the chef and owner was very attentive and highly skilled. The serving staff was excellent as well. The food tast and quality were 5 star. The seafood was so fresh the crab was still alive. The prices were unmatched and we will definitely return! 5 star

Recently checkout a local Chinese restaurant with my husband . All the dishes had really good flavor especially the Szechuan fish fillet with spicy broth. It is kind of oily , but I like that it was not overly spicy and had a delicious taste. The server was very friendly. Would definitely go back.

We decided to try this place because we were leaving for vacation the next day and didn't want to cook at home. So the only thing we had was the mapo tofu because we also didn't want to deal with leftovers. Bottom line: we will be back, and this is likely to become our new neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The service was friendly and helpful; Chen asked if we like spicy food and recommended the Szechuan beef or Szechuan fish fillet, but we decided to go with the tofu for this visit. We also had two bowls of steamed rice and hot water. The serving was very generous. We walked out full and satisfied. The flavor was outstanding - the most authentic, best restaurant-made mapo tofu we have found in the south bay area. They use real Szechuan peppercorns, so you get that 'ma la' numbing of the tongue along with the spiciness. The ambiance is casual, great for a small every day dinner with family or close friends. There were a several families that came from the Taekwondo place next door to get take out, and an Asian martial arts action movie (on very low volume) playing on the video screens.

This is a cozy family-owned Chinese restaurant with a very casual ambience. I came in for dinner with my family on a Sunday night. The service is warm and friendly, and the open kitchen allows you to see your food being freshly prepared. We ordered the house special fried rice, pork tenderloin, braised pork ribs, string beans with minced pork, and Mongolian beef. The house special fried rice was so good that we finished it and ordered another one! All the dishes were flavorful, and the pork and beef were very soft and tender. We also received complimentary fortune cookies for dessert. Overall, we had a delicious and memorable dinner. I will recommend Yummy Kitchen to my friends!
