We decided to try this restaurant during the long Easter weekend, but it was a major disappointment. The enchiladas suizas (chicken) and carnitas del pueblo arrived at our table before the appetizer, guacamole, and drinks, which was surprising. We took a bite of our lunch and it was cold and not even warm. I politely asked the waiter to reheat the food and asked to be seated at a larger table because the plates of food were taking up too much room and making it difficult to eat. Unfortunately, the waiter did not address this situation. The flour tortilla used for carnitas del pueblo was undercooked and very thick. Both the enchiladas suizas (chicken) and the carnitas were dry.The guacamole ($18) is pricey; despite being prepared by hand in front of us, they served it in a black dish, placing it on top of a beautifully crafted pestle and mortar. When the bill arrived, I was shocked and pleased to see that the enchiladas was taken off the bill. However, the server said that because we reordered it, they had to recharge us.My boyfriend and I frequently go around Santana Row; it's a stunning location, especially at night. Zazil's inferior and bar looked fantastic, but the cuisine did not meet up to its appearance.

Loved eating brunch here with my family! Our server was very attentive and friendly, and we enjoyed the ambience. The complimentary chips and salsa were a lovely touch; the chips were fresh and the salsas were tasty and unique. Definitely recommend!

Samuel was fantastic! Took great care of us.Update: We just can’t stay away from Zazil and have probably been back 10 times since our last review. Our favorite item on the menu is the Tacos De Cochinita… these are to die for and the pork belly is always perfectly cooked! Please don’t ever take them off the menu!Had to update this post because we really enjoy this place but also had another wonderful waitress (Ana C) - she was so attentive, made a great wine recommendation and even cleaned our table at one point after we made a little mess with the elotes (also really good!). Thanks Ana!

Excellent atmosphere, very helpful staff, and the food was excellent. Interesting, quality cocktails (we had the maple applewood manhattan, a cucumber elderflower gin drink, and a pomegranate blood orange drink - they were all delicious). Definitely worth the cost.Vegetarian options: A good selection of interesting vegetarian options. My foodie sister immediately wanted to bring her vegetarian foodie friend here. Most dishes can have vegetarian protein options.

I had a really bad experience.? ? since it is located in Santana Row. You would think it would be a great place, but oh, what a disappointment. Since we walked in, the host did not greet us kindly, The drinks were average, nothing so exciting, the last horrible thing was that the restroom was floating. One of the toilets was clogged. It looked like management didn't care about it. Literally, the water was all over the floor.

My sister and I had a great experience up until there was a small miscommunication on leftovers to take home. They accidentally tossed my salad and our original waiter was off shift. Our new waiter, Eva, saved the day and offered a new salad to take home. Service like this is rare these days and I’d like to give Eva a huge kudos and thank you for handling our little hiccup like a rockstar.
