Great place, the best Sushi ever, the best by far. Service is GREAT , come and ask for Bri to be your server , sweet girl.. the best part was that we had Grandma (the owner) sit at our table to enjoy dinner. Over all its an awsome experience.

So glad to have vegan options! The food is delicious and when we can, my family enjoys coming here for an excellent meal. The last time we ordered over the phone, we were very clear that we wanted two regular and two CHILDREN'S meals. We thought the price was a little extra costly, but we are always willing to pay the for quality food and service. However, even after asking multiple times over the phone for the two different types of meals, we were still charged (and to be fair, given) four adult/regular entrees. We have pretty young kids and there was no way they were even gonna get halfway through their portions. I wish they tolerated leftovers better, but that's just not the reality. So please, for phone orders get the staff to actually verify you have KIDS entrees on the bill if that's what you need. Don't let our experience be a repeat for you--except when it comes to the deliciousness of the food of course. :)

This place overpriced and the some of the raw fish was questionably old. I barely got fed for close to $40 and I never even got asked if everything was alright or got more water when my glass was empty halfway through the meal. I will never go back to Inaka—probably they should call it It’s Kaka. There are so many restaurants in Monterey, Salinas, Seaside and Marina that are better! Fresher fish, friendly service, generous portions, and more flavorful rolls. I wasraised in Japan and bento boxes and tempura, sushi/sashimi and the attendant side dishes are my comfort food. I travel and have sampled sushi restaurants from Canada to Montana including Hawaii and Washington, Oregon and Idaho. In the Monterey Bay Area there are at least 5 restaurants that are much more like what a Japanese food lover wants.

We've been here a few times now and are always surprised that their bento box meals only have meats to choose from. We usually choose a meat, vegetable and some rolls. Instead you have to order those items on the side which inflates your bill. I think this is done purposely which feels sneaky. My second issue was the California rolls. The imitation crab was so laden with mayo (or something like it) it was disgusting. You really couldn't taste the crab at all.The atmosphere is very nice and they have lots of seating. The decor is great, as is the service. It's just the food that has left me disappointed so this was probably our last visit.

I was excited to try this as there isn't much culture in Hollister when it comes to restaurants so I made the trek to San Juan to pick up a large sushi order. I was very, very disappointed. I've tried allot of sushi in my life and this was by far the worst. The rolls were tiny, the fish was very fishy aka not the freshest and it was wayyyyy over priced... I paid over 100 for 5 rolls that were absolutely tiny. The upshot... the people are pleasant, the food is not good and the tempura was the only thing that was decent... pass on this one and go to any sushi/Japanese restaurant besides this one. Absolutely not worth it...
