It is clean and friendly, with lots of options and great service. Waiters can be forgetful about who ordered what and give the wrong plate to someone. They are quick to apologize though. Before giving you the bill verify that everything on the bill was ordered. The food is pretty good.

I give these review more so to the chef than to the service of the place. I understand everyone has different tastes, and so they might not put salt on things so you can do it yourself. Which is fine.. but I did have an experience with the clam chowder soup. Tasted like it came straight out of a can. Was not creamy. And we ended up sending it back. Breakfast is good. Waitress 4 of 5Service 4 of 5Wait time 25 min. Normally busy during later hours. But you can always get a table.

I know that Nick’s has been getting negative feedback due to the change in management. But people need to consider that the new staff is adapting to the dynamic change, and so should the customers. The service was splendid, and the food, particularly the waffles, were scrumptious. The only minor complaint is that there should be more waiters available on standby even when it’s during a not-so-busy time of day.

This place used to be great. New owners. New menu items.I can't get past the smell of traditional american breakfast food and Vietnamese food all in one place. Unfortunately it seems like the two cuisines are cooked on the same grill and effecting the taste of the food I ordered. Not for me. I won't be back. The hostess was great and service was too....I just want my bacon to taste like bacon and not fried rice.

Nixa been a long friend of the San Leandro Washington in Lewelling community has now new owners with a Vietnamese flair and their menu has made some light changes I tried one of the dishes and it is excellent and plan to go back when they add pho to their expanding menu

Went Friday night at 8, and it was about half to 2/3rds full with customers. Cheeseburger and fries for a fair price. Well seasoned, (medium cooked) and good portion on the patty with premium produce toppings, fries perfectly crispy on the outside, with a soft moist inside. I will definitely return!

I had a great experience at Nick's! The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered coffee and the deluxe breakfast with bacon, pancakes, eggs and hash browns. The pancakes were incredibly fluffy and the hash browns were really crunchy - just how I like them. I also appreciated that the coffee mugs were not the tiny ones that some diners use. I will totally be back for breakfast soon!!

My experience made me a little sad. This used to be my favorite diner, but the new owner is gonna make this place extinct soon. Overpriced food and one lady working and basically doing everything. While the other lady was mopping smh. This used to be the place, and always packed. Not so much now, and see why. 2 stars when to our waiter! Shes was awesome ❤

We found this place in accident! We were hungry and were headed to another restaurant. We got lost and ended up a Nick's! I'm so glad we did! The prices are excellent and food is home made! The staff is very friendly also. We live in Southern California but we make a point of visiting this restaurant when visiting my relative in San Leandro!

I am happy that most of the wait staff is still there. The portions are a bit smaller, and like most restuarants, maybe there is no other option. I really liked the original Nick's and felt like I was eating in somebody's kitchen, not so much now. Change always happens with new management, and hopefully, the owners will take notice because with less food to eat and higher prices, given the economic condition of our Country, this should be a wake up call.

My husband and I enjoyed our frequent breakfasts without kids here at nicks 2 years ago. We recently moved back and wanted to have brunch with the kids. Were surprised to find new management. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and selection. Herman, our waiter, was very attentive and kind. The owner was also very friendly, greeting us and thanking us as we left. Rumor has it, pho might be on the menu in the near future. We're excited for that. Will be returning again to dine in.

For almost 10 years my family and I have come to Nick's, we went back a few weeks ago and we noticed some changes in the staff, we ended up finding out that it was a new ownership, we decided to give them a try, big mistake, breakfast is not the same, they should change the names in the menu a least the old customers will not look for specific flavors. Some people may think how hard it is to make an omelet, not really hard; but it is really hard to fill the taste of a long time customer.
