Old SLO catered my daughter's wedding last weekend. It was her favorite go to BBQ place when she attended Cal Poly, so her first choice for food! Kevin R. was absolutely amazing! He was fantastic to work with start to finish, and had great ideas and was so helpful the entire process. The guests loved the food and there were leftovers for everyone to munch on next day, all boxed up for them.

Barbecue is great - the tri tip is excellent! The side made with corn (I don't remember the name) is also delicious. It's not inexpensive, but it's definitely worth the price.

Great little bbq joint here. Pretty decent beer selection, deliciously tender pulled pork sandwiches and amazing chocolate bacon milkshake. Even the slaw was different, yet yummy. I can't wait to go back and try their fries! I love that they offer yellow bird hot sauce as well!

The self serve beer taps look promising until you look closer. Then, when you actually use them, you experience a vivid example of a good idea that doesn't live up to its potential...at all. In fact, it's pretty disappointing. 1/2 the beer choices are not available, the taps are not easy to get a good pour and your total keeps running up even if all that's coming out is foam. It's not cold. On another note, the tri-tip was good and, although the service was mediocre to negligent, overall, the price wasn't terrible. In the end. I probably won't go back. Pay a little more. Get a better value.

The food is good hear but the worker in cashier today 04/27/2022 at 12:30pm. She was rude and sarcastic when I was placing my order . I never had poor service here before . I come here every other week and this is the first time I experience bad service and not sure if I will ever be back.

Old SLO BBQ was our wedding caterer on 4.14.22 and they were amazing from start to finish! We came into the restaurant for a wedding tasting and fell in love with the food and we knew we were in great hands with Kevin! He answered all of our questions and always responded to calls and emails quickly! The food turned out perfectly and Kevin & his team were so accommodating and went above and beyond on wedding day- even helping clear plates & cleaning up!! We requested left overs for my husband and I in our bridal suite because we had been warned bride and groom don't get to each much at the wedding because of all the talking! When we got up to the room later there were 2 to-go boxes made for us and tons of leftovers!! We had sooo many compliments on the food and staff. What a great business and team! Thank you so much! I get the pulled pork sandwhich here all the time and the corn pie. It is excellent. A bit pricey but that is the case everywhere these days. Well worth it though. I have also had the strawberry greens salad with chicken and that is excellent too. Try this place out and judge for yourself. IF the food were that mediocre, then why is it always so busy at lunch time?

Delicious, perfectly cooked tri-tip on a great sourdough roll. Generously sized sandwich. Also loved the apple-cucumber jalapeño slaw!
Stopped here for lunch today!! It was one of the best Tri tip Sands I have had in a while. Flavorful and huge!! Got the Sour Dough Bread!! Loved it and they have Spicy BBQ Sauce!! I got the sand with a side salad!! Will be back!!

Was in SLO for the weekend and placed an online order for take out. My order was still not ready when I arrived. They were slammed with several guys putting together orders in the back. They were NOT wearing gloves. Disgusting. I go back to my Airbnb and found out the problems with my orders: 1. Tri Tip Plate - Was given fries instead of Quinoa Salad. 2. Chicken Plate - Missing BBQ sauce. SLOW DOWN guys! Read the receipt and put the right food in the correct plates. Wear gloves please!

Tri tip is to die for! Waaaay better than Firestone! I like the fries much better here as well. Also their cole slaw is AMAZING. I'm not much of a cole slaw person but I loved it! It so refreshing, I could have it everyday lol. I live about 30 minutes south of here and don't mind driving here just to eat. They have another location but I rather go here. Vibes are much more chill. This place is not talked about enough. Hence the purpose of this review! Hope more people go! Loved it. side note: their bathrooms are sooo cute!
