A+. This place was amazing! The steak, the brussel sprouts, the service. All of it. It was all fantastic! I highly recommend stopping in and giving this place a try. We stopped in while on vacation from Oklahoma and we were happy that we did.

Spectacular food!!! The Snake River Farms Flat Iron had an incredible flavor, as did the tuna tartare and the mushrooms (also, portion sizes are quite substantial, which you don’t always get at white tablecloth dining). I get to eat at a LOT of restaurants for my job and this was genuinely one of the best dinners I have had anywhere. Talented chefs and the best place for dinner in SLO.

I had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant, last night, and my wife and I are still beaming about our experienceThe staff were friendly and our waiter was interested in creating a memorable experience for us, which was evident by his patience and care throughout the nightI’ll attempt to make this post as simple as possible and state that I ordered the duck and my wife ordered the chicken, we split a side order or Brussel sprouts, that were beyond tastyEverything mentioned was perfect and wonderfully flavored! There were a couple of drinks consumed as well and you can decide what tickles your fancyPeople often speak price and we didn’t leave feeling cheated, at all! I actually plan on making a trip to the restaurant once a quarterThe restaurant is a vibe and you can walk next door to the Hotel San Luis Obispo for extended nightlife music and drinks?Kid-friendliness: It’s a vibe, top to bottom everyone was professional and friendly (they even took my umbrella and stored it away for me)

I have eaten at Ox + Anchor a few times and it’s always top notch. But I am compelled to write this review after taking my son for a special 10th birthday celebration dinner last night. We specifically went there because he wanted to try a filet mignon (his first ever) and I trusted that Ox + Anchor would not disappoint…well, that’s an understatement! Our meal was perfection, our server was wonderful (thank you, Chris!!), the added check-ins from the rest of the staff made us feel pampered and loved (!!), and we truly had a special time that will stay in our memory banks. I believe everything on the menu is amazing (I’ve tried most of the starters and sides, and the steaks are unbeatable). We look forward to our next visit!!!
Our overall experience at Ox + Anchor was amazing. The service was great, Katrina was very attentive and recommended some great dishes. For appetizer we started off with the bone marrow tater tots , which were very delicious. For our entrèe selection, we went with the Rosemary roasted chicken and Flat Iron. They were both super juicy and were perfect. For our side we got the Yukon Gold Purée, it was so delicious. We will definitely be coming back again when we visit SLO.

I was hesitant to try this restaurant because it was on the pricey side, but it was excellent! I had the flank steak and it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The cocktails were delicious, the sides were large enough to share, and the chocolate mousse dessert was wonderful. The best part was the service--our waiter was very fun! We all agreed this restaurant exceeded our expectations.
