My husband and I grabbed a quick to go order here on our way through San Luis Obispo, and it was some of the best Indian food we have ever had! My husband is born and raised in India and he was very impressed. We will definitely return whenever we are in the area again!

I'm sorry to say this restaurant is not what he used to be. Place is rundown. And they charged my debit card twice last night and claimed they never got paid. Took my card information down and want me to contact him today. I woke up this morning and noticed they did a double charge on my card. I will be filing a police report. I will file charge against this place. I will never go back. Horrible service and very rude and they need to update their debit card machine. Horrible experience. Horrible horrible made me feel super embarrassed and they locked my debit card over too many charges at one spot which is something my bank does thank God.

This place was alright. The food was ok (I usually go for mild, but here I probably would have been fine with medium/spicy). The service could have been better/more attentive. The atmosphere was a little depressing. (Traditional Indian background music played at a low level would be ideal… and maybe some better lighting) I think they are doing a good job but could be doing a bit better. I’d be interested in seeing what other Indian cuisine SLO has to offer next time I’m in town for work.

If i had never eaten or experienced curries I would have given this eatery a higher score. My wife and I ordered two different chicken entrees and paratha bread. The bread stands out as the Worst paratha we have ever eaten in a restaurant. No garlic or spice taste. The taste was flat as a pancake. Both of our entrees had flavor but, were lacking overall. The chicken was tender but this does not save the meal nor want me to return in the future.

My wife and I split the butter, chicken and lamb korma with some buttered naan. All the food was excellent, I was semi-concerned about having lamb as it can be gamy, but this was great. Service was good, certainly a more traditional Indian restaurant and seemingly not frequented by locals. More of a to go order place it seems, although there are plenty of seats. It's a bit dark inside and very dark outside near the door such that the business did not really look open when we arrived. I can imagine some updates in that department may help. But of course it's the food that really matters and they seem to have a firm grasp in that area.

My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try Indian food for the first time. Taj Palace was the perfect spot! The food was delicious and we're looking forward to returning :)

This place was open on Christmas Day! Found it through yelp and it did not disappoint. It was crowded within minutes of 6pm and though there was a bit of wait, the food came fast and was incredibly delicious. There were plenty of choices and I was too hungry and excited to eat that I forgot to snap a picture of what we ordered. Be sure to add extra naan!

I got the lamb tikka masala which had flavor but as a non local cruising by I would have expected to have rice or some kind of side if the overall price was gonna be over 20$ to just get the meat. Probably wouldn't recommend to somebody who never had it because if I had a problem with the pricing and what I got I'm pretty sure they will to.

We were traveling between Southern CA and Northern CA and stopped by for food. Excellent food all items ordered was fresh, very taste, reasonably priced and done very well including Chai. A must go for any traveler between NorCal and SoCal and also very clean and in a good location. We are definitely going back here again. Service was excellent as well including ambience. Higly recommend this place for anyone. Food is rightly spiced and not too spicy nor bland and less oily and very flavorful!

Atmosphere was not great and service was sorta flaky, however: they made me my favorite dish which was not on the menu, and it was delicious!
