The food was bland and not memorable. Overly cheesy without much other flavors. Service was great.

The food was delicious with one exception, I had the chicken Marsala special and the chicken was very dry and had no flavor whatsoever resembling Marsala..probably one of the if not the worst chicken Marsala I have ever had. Everything else was excellent and the service was top notch . We will definitely go back again to try some different options.

I had the veggie lasagna and shared a salad with my spouse. She had a beef dish with risotto. My lasagna was fabulous. I would give that 4 stars! However, her dish was served at room temperature and she also complained about the salad being drenched in dressing. After she pointed it out, I agreed. Too much dressing. People order salads to taste and savor the ingredients; and not to eat dressing. Our server was great. Knowledgeable and friendly. Our only complaint on the server is that whomever was supposed to bring us bread never brought it! I would go back and give them another shot.

I met a friend there for lunch and the food (soup) was very good, and good service.Parking: Paid lot, but free under certain amount of time. I didn't have to pay for the time I was there around an hour. Parking fairly close.

The Southpark location has been fantastic in the past. The San Marcos location was not to the same level and failed to meet admittedly high expectations. It was not bad. The food was good but not great and was not equal to Southpark. At least based on many prior experiences. However, our server, Matteo, WAS fantastic. He was friendly and playful, just delightful. Perhaps expansion is difficult to duplicate. Or the kitchen had an off night. But I suspect the food preparation lacked the "soul" and spirit found in Southpark.

Buona Forchetta was so so good. I originally had a party of 8 and it slowly turned into 12 and they totally accommodated for that. Also we were a little late and they didn't mind at all. The food was super good and very fast service.

Really like this place. Food is always good, staff is fantastic. Noise is a bit of a probem. The patio needs blinds or sunshades. Sun comes through late afternoon and it's blinding. Half our party couldn't see at all. Staff was kind enough to relocate us inside.

Buona Forchetta is the best Italian food with fantastic service. We love all of their restaurants here in San Diego. I gave it a 'quiet' rating because it was right before they closed after lunch. Otherwise, the restaurants have a great vibe.

We were initially seated outside (it was a cold rainy evening) we declined the outdoor table then they pushed two very small tables together and we faced a wall - it wasn't the best experience for us as we were hosting out of town guest. The alcohol menu was very limited as well.

It was my first time going to here and they answered all the questions and really detailed on what to kinda expect to taste. I did ended up doing the build your own pasta with fettuccine, cecino de Pepe sauce, and sausage. It was absolutely incredible. Better than I expected and my family all enjoyed their food as well. The portions were excellent and we were all able to share small bites between each other. The bread is absolutely delicious. Service was great at attend us as well.

We really enjoyed our dinner and the service was great. The noise level is high but not overwhelming and it was a busy Friday night, it may be quieter on another night. The service was just a little quick for us. I understand it's a Friday night and they need to turn tables but I'm a quick eater and my salad came out right behind the appetizer and my dinner was sitting for three or four minutes before I finished my salad. Next time I go, if I'm not in a rush, I'm going to ask them to slow down a little bit. I would prefer to finish an appetizer before a salad, or a salad before dinner. The food was excellent, I had pasta with pesto, and my wife had a beet salad. I started with the pear salad, and we shared the artichoke heart appetizer. All were freshly prepared with care and were delicious. In addition we had 1 glass of wine, a sparkling soda, and we took home a calzone for my son and it was $132 w 20% tip. Not inexpensive but reasonable in my opinion. We will go again and try the pizza, they look delicious!

We reserved a table for the reopening of the dinner time, 5pm. Even with a reservation it took awhile for them to seat us. Once seated our server took at least 20-25 to greet us. She was greeting and taking drink order of other tables that were sat after us. We began to wonder if she had forgotten about us. Dining was fine and food was good, but taking priority of who is seated first would have been nice.

This was my second time eating at Buona Forchetta and I was not disappointed. The ambience is great, good service and the food is phenomenal. One thing was better than the next. The service can be a little slow at times but it was a girls night so we weren't too bothered by it.

Food is not very good and service is okay. I don't recommend this place if you are looking for good food. Ambiance is not bad. This is a place where you can get an appetizer and a few glass of wine with friends to hang.
