Taco shop food better than this place. Burritos are mostly rice and beans and the rice and beans are canned. If you're going to wait 30 mins for food, I'm expecting freshly made rice and beans if that's the majority of food you're going to get. Ordered my kid a crispy chicken taco and the taco was crispy on the outside and wet and tough on the inside, he couldn't even bite into the tortilla. Not worth it, better restaurants around the area.

The food here is good and consistent. The service varies a bit but generally friendly wait staff along with plenty of traditional ambiance. I'd say it's good and the portions are certainly worthy of the prices. We go here one to two times per month.

The service here was exceptional. We were placed at a high top table in the bar area, but needed to move because of a person in our party. The manager was kind and understanding, so he shifted our group within 10 mins to another table. The restaurant was busy, and he didn't need to do this, but everyone in my group really appreciated this gesture. The food and our server was terrific and I would definitely eat here again.

Kyle was excellent server. I want to let the mangers know that he was on point and he was so awesome at waiting on us. Everything was so perfect. Thank you Kyle so much! Will be back. We were in a rush to eat before a concert at Palomar College and traffic coming from OC was brutal. We had maybe 30 mins. We were starving so we took a chance on stopping. Cocina del Charro offers a huge patio, which is great for covid-conscious people. As soon as the hostess heard our situation she seated us immediately and informed our server that we were in a hurry. Kyle was friendly, fast, professional, and took care of everything. No joke, Kyle is perhaps the absolute best server we have ever had. The entire staff were top notch. Our food was very good, from the chips & salsa to our cheese crisp to the enchiladas. We loved it all. We will definitely return when we're down this way again.

This place has changed for the worse!!!! The food is horrible now. We always get the steak which is really a good cut of beef, tonight the quality was microwaved at best. Really unfortunate as this use to be a staple of San Marcos, now we won't be back.

I had a long awaited happy reunion with old co-workers and some of our teenagers (11 of us) yesterday during happy hour. Cocina Del Charro is always our go to Mexican food restaurant but this time was made super special by our waiter Kyle. He was so sweet and very attentive. He handled us ladies like a champ! We will be back and ask for Kyle next time!!
Omg! Waited forever for everything! Water, chips, waitress/waiter, refills, ordering, and food. Never check to refill drinks. Had to go to the bar to order 2nd and 3rd drink.

We were in San Marcos and wanted a cocktail and food. The Row is now closed for the redevelopment, had to happen.But we found this place.The food was great, and the staff was awesome.We sat at the bar and they were constantly making sure we were good.We will be back for dinner.But I suggest you don't go there so I can get a table.Enjoy.
