Completely ruined all the good qualities of the place.My wife and I went out with her sister to grab a drink and bite to eat. We invited our nephew who’s 20 to come eat with. When he arrived he was denied entry. We asked why and the bouncer and manager Don said no one under 21 is allowed in. We pointed out that inside the bar itself were little kids eating and some teenagers with their parents. Their excuse was “that’s different”. As we talked to them a young lady walked into the bar, the bouncer asked to see her ID, she refused, he asked again as she kept walking, she didn’t say anything and went in. She was later served alcohol while inside sitting at a table. Not sure why my wife’s nephew was denied entry while teenagers and little kids were allowed inside. Pretty awful experience being told “that’s different” when they allow others to dine with their families but not us. At no point was our nephew attempting to purchase alcohol or drinking at our prior to coming just in case the bar wants to claim otherwise and make up lies as to why he was denied entry,

Went to watch a college basketball game with friends and had an excellent experience. The place was busy but our waitress still gave us great service. The drinks came out very quickly but most of all the waitress was upbeat and fun. Our used dishes were removed right away. The whole wait staff worked together well and were so friendly. Food is good and they have a good happy hour.

The service is great, the $17 pulled pork sandwich was more like a chewy sloppy joe. The hamburger looked good but no variety. And if you want onion rings they only give you 5.Great chicken wings.The atmosphere was blasting sports plus ads so loud you couldn't hear each other.

I hate to make this post. I know the owner has done many great things for our community. I visited players today with my husband. We were there to grab a bite to eat after a game at CSUSM. It was us, and 4 other tables occupied, 3 of which were solo. No one at the bar. (So not busy.) One of the 2 waitresses came over and greeted us after about 10 minutes. She took our drink order, then went to get us a food menu. Meanwhile, we noticed a drunk patron (had a martini and a beer in front of him and was obnoxiously introducing himself to anyone who walked in, hugging them... uninvited.) As he intruded on a duo that walked in with a dog, I noticed our waitress come over to greet them, petting all over the pooch. Which in itself kinda of grossed me out knowing she's about to handle our food. Avid dog lover and owner myself.... But gross. We waited, seeing if she would return to take our order. She did not. Almost 20 minutes. Instead, she went to the kitchen to grab some food, brought it out to a table with a man and a little girl. Then she sat down at the table and started to feed the little girl by hand. We had still not ordered. I proceeded to ask another employee for my bill and checked out. I was in the service industry for many years, this was unacceptable. Do better man.

Randomly decided to check out the pub food options for lunch one day and was not disappointed! The bartender was very friendly and took great care of me while I waited for my order. I waited at the bar and the other customers there were also very friendly and we chatted about my broken hand lol. I can’t remember everything I ordered, but I remember the calamari fries! So good! I even came after work with a co-worker. We shared a Philly sandwich because we were still a little full from the pub grub I shared at lunchtime. Our server was great and the gentleman that picked up our table at the end of her shift, was just as friendly and attentive! I really enjoyed this place!

Was here yesterday (Saturday) and the bartender was super rude. Won't be returning. Bummer for such a nice area. A few regulars I spoke to told me they definitely favor you (especially Don) depending on how regular of a customer you are and how much money you spend. They throw big superbowl party every year that they kept trying to sell me a ticket for, but won't let regulars sit at the regular table. Instead they let "regulars" bring plus ones when you've been loyal to the bar for years and then tell you that you can't sit at the regular tables when chairs can be added and you've tipped hundreds of dollars and supported the bar all through covid and the employees pregnancies and accidents. It's really a slap in the face. I won't be at that party.

Great atmosphere ? my wife and I have been coming here for years. Popular among the college community but a staple of San Marcos. The service is great and the place has character. Don't have to worry about fights or people getting to rough and rowdy. Always a great time

Another killer Friday lunch at Players!! I had the Spicy Chicken Wrap today. It was incredibly good from the first to the last bite!! The beer is always good and cold also!! Thanks Players!!!!
