I had tried the food many times when it was Sue's Express and I was so happy that I found the best thai food close by me. But once they changed their name to Happy Spatula and the chef, it is not the same anymore. The tom yum got so diluted and blend and all the noodle dishes has missing some flavors. I tried again to see if the flavor is the same or not but it is not the same as Sue's food..

Litterally the best thai food i've ever had. Its a little hard to find at first but its a cute and quiet spot. Only complaint I have is they have off and on hours so its hard to know when they are open. Otherwise 11/10! Changing my review: Sue no longer owns this restaurant. Its now an asian fusion restaurant, i wouldn't recommend ordering thai food there. But maybe their other menu options are better.

The kitchen part of the market is no longer Sue's Thai Express since November. Food is not as good as Sue's used to be. Online order took 45-min to be ready. I'm going back to Darunee for flavorful Thai food.

While I know this place is very new, they need to step it up. Ordered lunch, I was the only person in the restaurant and it still took 25 minutes. When it came, it was not good! Drunken noodles had literally zero flavor, looks like they forgot to put any type of seasoning or sauce when they cooked it. Hopefully they can get on track!

When you walk in no one was there . Waited awhile before someone showed up. The male server looks like came from the auto shop. Hands are dirty and I did not see him washed his hands. Not much food food to choose from. Fried rice was spoiled after few hours in the fridge. Thai tea too sweet and too much milk. I think they changed ownership.

Taste was ok, but some of the vegetables were clearly old and I received two different peanut sauces. I assume they were from different batches but one was either really old or followed a very different recipe.

This just opened and I'm delighted to have a yummy Thai restaurant so close. The soups are performed cooler nights and the food is fresh and very well flavored, without being too greasy. Friendly place and a bonus is the Asian food store that it is attached too. Get your Pocky sticks for desert. Their fresh breads from a Taiwanese bakery are a favorite too!

Best Thai food!!! Yellow Currie is delicious as well as everything else on the menu. The storefront is so cute and has many great items. Staff is so friendly! 10/10 recommend!

Excellent Thai food! I have tried the top Thai food restaurants in all of San Diego and this was by far the best. Very generous portions, quality ingredients, complex flavors!! I

Hands down best little place for Thai , clean and fast service. Fresh rolls my absolute favorite.

Our first time trying. The people were really nice but Pad Thai was runny and had way too much sauce. The Pad See Ewe had no flavor. They also forgot part of our order. Bummed was excited for this place.

Quite disappointing. The drunken noodles had no real flavor to speak of. The noodles didn't get coated completely yet were extremely oily. And the tofu was super hard. (It was fried tofu, but it wasn't done in a way that is edible, much less in a way that makes me want to return.)Go to Onny's instead.

Went there for lunch because of the exceptionally high rating as well as the generous endorsement for the chef, which is unusual. I’m disappointed that the cooking is just terrible. The fish cake as a hot appetizer is rubbery in texture, flavorless and soaked in oil. The frozen fish cakes I buy from Korean supermarkets are better than this. It takes one full napkin to absorb the oil from EACH fish cake & the table top where the napkin rests on is also full of oil - it’s that greasy. The orange chicken is not even warm, and soaked in excessive hot (temperature) sauce. This is microwaved food, definitely not freshly cooked in the kitchen. The chicken meat’s texture & taste are no different from a store bought frozen package. The beef “drunken noodles” are swimming in the oil and the beef is very tough - over cooked. But it has a good cast iron wok taste that a stir fried dish should possess. The Penang Curry chicken is overwhelmed by coconut milk, although the chicken is tender. The Pad Thai is doused in corn starch thickened pink sauce, too sweet, lacked the tangy balance of the tamarin & the savory of fish sauce. The Tom Yum soup taste like straight from water diluted soup base from a paper package bought in the supermarket, too salty & too vinegary & obnoxiously aggressive towards the taste buds. The egg roll is fine, so is the Thai tea. The food rating is a resounding 1-star, with the saving Grace being a good server (5-star) and a pleasant outdoor side yard eating area (4-star). They don’t have any indoor seatings since they share the space with a food store. Overall, terrible cooking by the chef. Eat somewhere else

2nd time here. Nice vibe both outside and Inside, with a lovely little market inside. Tried different dishes, overall very good. Great lunch place!

Food was super delicious and didn't have to wait a long time either. The man working was extremely nice and friendly. Came here for lunch and was a good amount of food! I will definitely be coming back!
