Totally happy today with my trip to Aladdin Gourmet - ran in to get some haloumi on my way to BevMo - they had everything I needed and more that I didn't, including frozen Kunafe - the man at the register was very nice - I mentioned that my favorite Kunafe man moved to Ohio - to which he replied, "We make Kunafe here!" oh my goodness I was so excited. He shouted in Arabic to the man in the deli area to give me a piece - IT WAS DELICIOUS! I have my new Kunafe place! I was so sad when the last guy moved to Ohio and now I have my prayers answered - FRESH KUNAFE and still within a mile of my home! Next time I will get some of their fresh food on display - it looked and smelled delicious in there. Can't wait to visit them again! Meanwhile, I will eat my frozen Kunafe they carried, and will visit Aladdin again soon for my fresh Kunafe fix!

They changed ownership and what used to be known for their huge falafel wraps, they now serve falafel sticks, skinny below your average sandwich at more than the price of previous wraps. The owner says his deli food prices are "deli" prices but they're more than restaurants prices. The recipe for the Mujadra has also changed and not as good,

We ordered a variety of kabobs, including Kubideh, chicken, and vegetables. The food was excellent, although we had to wait an extra 20 minutes (35-40 minutes in total) for it to get ready. Hopefully this is not a typical occurrence so I gave 5/5 for now.

Thier bakery is amazing ?Great tasty halva Basbosa ,and stuffed freshly baked stuffed breads and all kinds of sweet breads and baklava ,thier dates cookies are the best ?
The falofel & baba ganosh was so delicious! A bit hard to find from maps with limited parking.

Great selection of Middle Eastern products and very friendly staff. They make nice Mana’esh (flatbread topped with Zaatar, Cheese or Meat). Will definitely be returning.

Not bad a a store, nice owner and everything is ok except the people who works in the kitchen. There is nothing I hate more burned crushed meat in my sandwich, those particles looks like coarse peppers, you can't taste them, but could cause you a cancer everywhere in you colon and more. I tried one shawarma long ago, and it was full of this black particles. I thought it was a mistake, happened once, so I was bitter but did not say anything about it. Yesterday Fri Oct. 13 2023 I was in the area, and felt eating again a Chicken Shawarma again, the same man "cook" still there the same man. But there is two more people working, an older lady, "nice" and a Latin girl. I ordered my sandwich, the Latin girl prepared it to me. To be honest, the taste was great, a lot of meat but loaded with this burned particles, a lot of them the chicken pieces edges are burnt to add to the poison in the Sandwich. I was hungry, I ate it, and I went home and searched google again about the danger, to find out that I should not eat it, very dangerous, cancer causing materials. I wonder, are they going to change? Or you can't teach an old dog a new tricks. I am not eating there anymore, I do not feel it worse the risk. Fire the chef, he is no good, older tall middle eastern man. He should know better.

Coming from Toronto, I can safely say his shawarma is probably one of the better ones in the Bay Area. Surprisingly he has a takeout restaurant inside of a grocery store. I appreciate owner is always there, sometimes he’s a bit flustered but always a great experience.
