Found this spot on yelp. My friend made a reservation over the phone. It wasn't that busy for a Thursday evening. The fish tasted fresh. We mainly got nigiri. Also tried one of their daily special hand roll. It was uni and toro. Soooo good!! The service was a little slow but food was good.

Still the freshest and sweetest sushi I've found anywhere. And I've explored lots of sushi places.

We tried the Hokkaido roll, Honolulu roll, Tokyo roll, and seared sake toro nigiri. I guess I'm not a fan of warm avocado because I didn't particularly enjoy the Tokyo roll. There was also too much rice and not enough salmon. It was fried well though. The fish on the Hokkaido and Honolulu rolls were fresh but the overall flavors and construction of the rolls were just average. I enjoyed the sake toro the most, as it was seared well + nice and fatty! I'd probably only order nigiri next time.

Spicy Salmon hand roll Rainbow roll Dynamite roll Got these for take out from this local SM spot. All were super delicious and reasonably priced. Sad I didn't get to see a Mark Zuckerberg sighting (missed him by about 5 years it seems).

Excellent food and service. I ordered the "bento boat" with salmon and beef teriyaki

Excellent food, only on two occasions the service has not been complete because they are always doing everything quickly.

Can't distinguish one Japanese restaurant food from another. Not here anyways. Seems, cooks went to same japanese-cooking school and never deviated. ?

Food was great! So that's the reason for the two starts! We walked in and were seated right away not too many people eating only about two other tables aside from us. However for some reason they brought out our first order to the table ( bento box) and then decided to attend all their door dash, Uber eats, etc....after 40 min of waiting patiently I decided to ask the waitress what happened to the rest of our food then she quickly went to tell the men that was making the orders to stop preparing to go orders I saw when he moved all his to go boxes to the side and focus on making our food and serve us . Shame on them! Seriously she should have been paying attention to all the orders he kept preparing not caring to bring us our food first ! After she decided to go tell him he literally made our sushi rolls with in less than 10 min! By then my husband was already done with his bento . Unfortunately do to the lack of staff and attention we received we will not be coming back again.

So good you almost don’t want to share a glowing review because you don’t want the wait times to increase ;)

The quality was outstanding and prices were very reasonable. I've paid more $$ for sushi no where near this good. The service was a little slow. However, the restaurant was packed to capacity and the servers were working as fast and hard as they could. So I have no issue with it.

This was a great discovery of a new sushi place for me in the Bay Area. I typically go to ones in South Bay and happened to be in san mateo today. The other sushi place was only open for dinner that we came here based on Yelp review. Was a bit nervous, but the food was excellent. Rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fish was really fresh, and the portion was very generous for what we typically get in res. Thank you!

Have been going to this place for years. Love the staff, ambiance and quality of their food. They treat you like family and never disappoint! We have tried numerous sushi spots in the Bay Area, and always compare our experience to what we have at Fuji. Will continue to be our go to spot!

We go here for Sushi. The fish tastes fresh and they have a good variety of classic rolls. Usually the staff are pretty attentive and orders arrive as expected.Parking: I usually park at the parking structure on 3rd and B street and walk over. S.Claremont St. Sometimes there is street parking depending on what time of day you go.
