Chicken is fresh & hot. Store is super duper clean. Owner/mgr is the nicest. What’s not to love about this gas station fowl?! Def not closed…go to there for a delicious meal or snack!

This places is closed and the gas station is torn up. Don't know if it's remodeling or permanently closed.

My kids call this "gas station chicken" and it's a favorite for family dinners. The chicken is flavorful and crispy, well seasoned, works well on waffles or on their own. Fried fish is also very good. The various sides are unremarkable, so we tend to focus on the proteins. Prices have increased quite a bit recently but still fair value.

I love this chain. Red beans and jambalaya are amazing for the price. Only weird thing is this location ( unlike others in the bay area), do not put sausage in there food. The chicken has a bit of a pepper kick. This location never seems to have fish as an option.

Krispy, Krunchy, these chicken had neither these qualities. I have tried several locations for KKC ( 4 in the Bay Area and 1 in NYC ) and this place by far is the worst. As a Filipino who is willing to admit that the perfect chicken is a Popeyes with Jollibee gravy, these chicken are the epitome of disappointment. The seasoning lacks the "Cajun" taste that some of the other location have as well as the chicken being at least 25% smaller in comparison. I'm not sure if I just got unlucky with the quality but the ones I received were lukewarm/room temp at best with most of the skin being close to soggy rather than "krispy". For the price that you pay for these chicken, you are honestly better off getting hot fried chicken from Safeway's Deli ( at least by Belmont ) at $9.99 for 8 pieces; they're a bit more on the salty side but at least they're bigger and more "Krispy" than this place

So juicy and delicious :) So happy there's one in San Mateo! Great alternative (if not better) to the KFC that closed around the corner..

Came here to try this location for the chicken and it was supee over fried and dry. We ordered the mashed potatoes on the side to try and it was disgusting! Majority of the KKCs I've tried the chicken was always fresh and tasted good. Here its burnt, gross and dry. I would avoid and save your money

Awful. Came to give it a try. Chicken sandwich was inedible went right in the trash. Chicken tenders were dry so dry couldn't swallow and the. Waffle fries we old and hard. Only good thing was the biscuit. For $20 go somewhere else.

Order:* 2pc Dark * 2pc Mix* 2 Biscuits* $12.68Pros:* Biscuits are very buttery, soft and moist in the middle, crispy all around the outside. * No wait as the chicken is already in a warmer. * Price I think is decent? But I also don't really know the market for fast food fried chicken.Cons:* I thought the chicken was a bit on the salty side.* I love hole in the wall spots, but the gas station is a tad on the divey side for me to get cooked food from. It kind of makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like.Comments:* It's a novelty try for me and there's nothing really negative I can say except that there's nothing really special about it either. I'm giving it a 3 because if someone were to ask me if I liked it, my short reaction would be, "¯\_(ツ)_/¯, it's fine."

Just some really delicious fried chicken! The counter is right next to the cashier in the gas station. Got the 8 piece dark meat, very tender and flavorful meat with a thin crisp breading. Didn’t feel greasy. It’s a surprising setup but it works! Would totally go back.

So soggy. There was no crisp or crunch. I'd rather be a vegetarian if this is what halal fried chicken tastes like.
