Contacted this restaurant via their catering inquiry link and received 'we do not deliver to SF'. Ok I get it. I asked if they delivered to SSF, where I work, and I could drive the tray of sandwiches home. They said they do but they like their food served fresh. So I plainly asked if they wanted the commission or not and they said 'no'. So there you have it. In a world with so many options, don't settle for poor service. I chose Dinosaur and you should too!!!!!

I've been using La Tre for over 10 years! Marcus has always been professional and the food excellent! They've grown so big that they closed their open to the public restaurant to strictly do catering. They are a preferred vendor for Genentech and they always deliver on time and I can always be assured the food is a crowd pleaser! Book early because they are super popular and if they are booked up and you can't get in-it just goes to show you how good they are! Don't get mad people-book earlier!

Like some reviewers mentioned, this company seems to be very selective of who they want to cater to. I decided to go ahead and try anyway as San Mateo is not far from Redwood City. I emailed with Marcus and we established that I could meet the $500 minimum requirement. He said that the day I wanted was full and that hopefully they could work with us in the future. I went ahead and gave him a future date. He stopped by to look at the venue and said he could create a proposed menu. I emailed him back, but that's when he said the location is outside of the service area. Take your business elsewhere.

I am with Genentech and love their food catering service. Healthy and not too rich, not too oily. Love it.

This is hands down one of my favorite caterers. Their one item that I never get tired of and can never get enough of is the SHRIMP TOAST. Bless those little morsels of perfection that throws my tastebuds into wild ecstasy. The shrimp is so savory and flavorful and the baguette a prime carrier for such deliciousness. The BANH MI from here is excellent too. The sandwiches are small so one is definitely not enough! They are generously filled with meat and veggies and can be quite spicy with jalapeí±os. The bread is also not too thick or hard to chew. One thing I don't care for is their salad which I think is unnecessary and doesn't even need to be on the menu. It's layers upon layers of iceberg lettuce topped with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and diced mint. There's just nothing special or even particularly healthy about it.

This place really, really sucks!!! so I called and asked if they deliver to Redwood City, which is about 10 minutes from San Mateo and was told "NO we only deliver to SSF", and I asked "Why". they said "Because it's closer"!! Uh, no it's not!! BS they only deliver to the GENENTECH company and no one else!! I guess that place is what keeps their business going and keeps them going everyday, good for you, but you should deliver to others. I will NEVER, NEVER try and use you again.

I used to love this place, but for the past 2-3 years they never have availability for catering. This year, I was told that they are booked all year! I doubt it. Unless you are a big corporation and placing a large order, they won't make time for you. I think they only have selective availability.

Genentech gets catering from here quite frequently and I love it! I really like their bo luc lac (shaking beef) and their baked crab spread on bread slices (I don't know of the exactly name but I can eat these forever). I was surprised how delicious their velvet cupcakes are! (I think they come free with catering.) They are moist for mini cupcakes. Great way to finish a meal! :)

I'm a Sr. Admin at Genentech and we cater pretty often, but I must say that my experiences with Marco from La Tre has been AWESOME! Food - fresh, healthy, and DELICIOUS Services - High QUALITY friendly service! They are quick to respond to my emails and always accommodating to my needs. Marco is always on time (sometimes even early) for deliveries! I would definitely recommend La Tre for catering events!

La Tre catered my husband's 40th birthday party at our house. *It cost about $10/person. *Food was delicious -- fresh and light, with a good variety of flavors in each dish. *People ate and ate till it was gone -- loved all the food. *Sandwiches, rolls, and shrimp toast were pretty easy to eat while wandering around the party. *My only critique was that the salad and vermicelli dishes could have had a better meat to salad ratio. We ended up with left over lettuce and noodles pretty quickly. *I would definitely order from them again and recommend you give them a try!

From what I have figured out the owners previously owned a restaurant in Brisbane and did catering. Currently based at Coyote Point's Yacht Club in San Mateo, though some of the reviews allude to having a restaurant, they DO NOT have a restaurant anymore and only do catering.

4 stars for some vietnamese food that is not pho!!! I have tried this place 3 times all because lunch was catered at work and each time the food was better then average I sampled their garlic noodles can't complain buttered garlic goodness on every bite, also sampled there small cuts of sourdough slices with cheese mixed with crab meat, also sampled there chicken ground meat with jalapenos and a sweet sauce over rice is a perfect mix,, there chicken skewers are decent some were a tad dry but most were juicy. food **** price ? service ****

So there are a couple of staples for me whenever I order here. The garlic noodles with anything. Shrimp, Pork, Chicken... whatEVER it comes with I'm good. And then there is the Shrimp Toast...absolutely LOVE it! I'm pretty sure I should stop at the 10th shrimp toast for one sitting esp if it's followed by Garlic noodles but my lilttle chopsticks just can't resist reaching over for just.one.more.shirmp.toast. We normally just do catering instead of going to the actual restaurant and they are ALWAYs on time and ALWAYS on point with the food. I don't think we've had to wait, I don't remember them ever messing up an order either. Marcus is always really accomodating. I wish the Vietnamese sandwiches were more like the ones I get in San Jose but it's still ok. I love their food... I tried making the garlic noodle myself one time... FAIL!! Garlic noodles.. it does your body good. Well maybe not THAT good cuz I'm not sure how super healthy it is... but it's OOOH SO YUMMY! And on Yelp, that's all we really care about anyway.

WHO KNEW Brisbane had yummy Vietnamese food? And they do catering?! So I can order them in for my work meetings, or head over for lunch on my break! The food was yummy and as they promise on the menu, "We will delight and nourish guests with a delicious and nutritious meal." I doubt the chicken salad I got in an attempt to be somewhat South Beach friendly plays by the rules with it's sugary dressing. Maybe I'll get Pho next time, that's pretty good for me, right? We shared garlic noodles, shrimp toasts, some chicken and mint dish with rice, the deep fried and the soft rolls, and the aforementioned salad. Every dish was delish. And nutritious apparently.

Le Tre is a favorite of my company whenever we get catered, and as such, I am drawn on days I crave Pho or Spring Rolls. The service is quick, friendly and attentive. The portions are VERY generous in my opinion and I always seems to leave with extra for an afternoon snack! I recommend the Pho (#2) and their noodle salads as well as the garlic noodles which are full of veggie and meat goodness. It can get crowded during the lunch rush, but they have plenty of seating so never fear.
