This place almost looks a little deserted. It's located on the far end of downtown so on the plus side, parking was a lot easier to find. There was only takeout available today Saturday around 2pm. Even though there is one person operating this store, there's a tablet located at the entrance for you to order so there is minimal contact. Essentially this is just a takeout place. Pics on Yelp made everything look a lot better than reality.

Ordered spicy salmon poke bowl. Their salmon is pretty spicy. Good size if you want just a light lunch. I wish they have little bit more beens or vege there. But with the price, good value.

Looks like an abandon Budget rent a car and no one was in the place so finally I grocked you needed to order at the kiosk . The kiosk was so small and it's prompts were counterintuitive like it was from the 1990's . No substitutions or changes and no one to ask questions which did not give me confidence to order .The place was empty at dinner even though they had a nice array of broken plastic chairs so we just walked out .

Delicious! Super pleased. The beef rib bowl was amazing.

Update 12/15/2020: it looks like this place has changed a lot. The menu has simple 1-fish bowls (no more interesting combos), the rice was hard and cold and the fish was wasn't as fresh as I remembered. I'm disappointed and won't be ordering here again.

I work in the area and I love this place. So easy to order and pick up... completely contactless and completely tasty!

My sister originally wanted to come here to try their wheel cakes but we decided to order other items on the menu to try as well. If you were to get one thing on this menu, I would get the Mochiko chicken ($5.95). I haven't tried their poke bowl, but it looks like they have a great selection of fish to choose from. I need to come back and try their poke bowl, but for now I loved their Mochiko chicken! It was soft and tender. It would go great for anything like with rice or noodles. They make that chicken very well. The wheel cakes were pretty good too. My favorite would be the chocolate one as I just love a good chocolate dessert. We also got a matcha one! I highly recommend coming here as they have a great selection from poke bowl to udon and dim sum!

We ordered chicken teriyaki bowl. It's the worst I have ever tasted. Chicken are dry like a piece of wood. The edamame is way over its best date, tasting like antiseptic. Will never order again.

Really wanted to like this place. Really nice people and clean..we are not fish eaters but got the Kailua pork bowl, chicken teriyaki bow and short rib bowl. My daughter who loves chicken teriyaki took one bite and would not finish it. The short ribs were not edible they were so chewy could not eat them. The Kailua pork was good but not a lot of flavor. My daughter got a tofu bowl and loved it but wished there was more tofu.May try again but not for a while

Way more than your typical poke joint & def. worth the visit! A little more of a hidden & quiet location from the usual bustling central downtown San Mateo scene. The place is pretty simple, casual, and overall spacious - pretty much a poke joint with table service...OH BUT MUCH BETTER food options of course!! Food talk: (1) Poke bowl combo with tuna + chicken - not the best poke but still pretty good, love that you can do any combo with a wide variety of different protein include chicken! Sauce was good, nice kick to it and not overly salty or overpowering which I liked. (2) Chicken karage combo with rice + side udon - so tasty!!! The chicken was super crispy & tender on a hot bed of rice + love the small side of udon, simple light broth & perfect al dente noodz! (3) Unsweetened iced green tea - perfectly refreshing, nice strong green tea taste & love that it wasn't sweetened.

When we walked in we felt welcomed and comfortable. Kingston was the best employee there so far. He checks up on us and asked if we need anything. Kingston 100% the best worker.

Mixed review. The price for the small bowl is really good at $7. The staff hasn’t put together any semblance of taste and flavor other than just giving you the options which they do have reasonable selection. The place is clean. The service was super fast. I would have liked my bowl better if it had a contrasting seasoning like toasted seasoned rice or a sauce you could add.
