Me and some friends originally stumbled across this gem back in 2017 while we were in town to attend a football game. This place is the true definition of "dive" bar. Since that wonderful night in 2017 , we talked about going back. Fast forward to March 2024, and with a few of our group relocating to other parts of the country, we knew we had to make the trip happen. So we took the drive north to San Pedro for no other reason than to spend the night so we could have the Godmother's experience one more time. Although it had changed a little (classed things up a bit if you will), the overall vibe was just that of which we remembered from 2017!! Whenever I hear anyone mention San Pedro, I will automatically think Godmother's!! Thank you Godmother's for two nights that we may not completely remember but will never forget!

My first time here. I came because I heard they have chicken bingo so how do ya not try it out? $10 cover charge for the band gave me pause until the place started filling up. You definitely get a different demographic when there's a cover charge- zero rif raft. 100% people hanging out, dancing, drinking, eating free hot dogs, singing along with the band, laughing - just awesome. Ya buy raffle tickets for $1 each, get a ticket with a number. The band keeps playing amazing music and when the chicken drops a grumpy on a number, the number is announced and the person with that ticket gets a prize. Beat time ever! Bartender was awesome. Friendly, professional and on his game. Hot dogs were a great surprise and the place was so clean. Will definitely be back!

OMG this place was wonderful the bartender she was great she's a good friend of my father's me first time meeting her she was so welcome you and so inspiring her name is Trish and she just all-around a beautiful good person this place is lucky to have her...I love the atmosphere I love the scenery they have in there and it's a really great location...Parking: I'm not too sure about parking we got dropped off, but the blocks were kind of empty so. I'm pretty sure there's parking around there.. ?Wheelchair accessibility: Yes there was a was a ramp for wheelchairs

VERY VERY unhappy with our experience! My friends and I paid a $10 cover to see James Intveld play. We even arrived an hour early to get a good seat near the dance floor. However, ALL the seating on the dance floor area was marked "RESERVED" and entirely taken up already!! What in the world?!! I can't stand on my left leg for hours and have been in PT for a year. What was this all about?!! We almost walked out and we DID see a handful of angry people turn around and just leave who were really frustrated. During several points of James Intveld's show, there were more people just standing around with nowhere to sit in the entrance and bar area commenting about this, although there was some open seating down below on the dance floor, not entirely being used. The women sitting in all that reserved space kept wandering into the bar and everywhere else, so much of that seating that we could have used was actually open. We even saw a few handicapped people walk in and have challenges with finding a solution. It was really a poor and unacceptable situation. We're not coming back.

So first of all, don't worry, I will never be back ever ever again. Second of all today when I came to your establishment, you were supposed to be open and you had decided to be closed early. I found that this was ridiculous. Keep in mind people often take Uber rides to your establishment and hope that you were open on normal business hours yet when I arrive, everything is shut down and the doors are closed, now I have to find an Uber ride to another destination so sad I find that you are pathetic for thinking that you can close early and I find that you are small minded as a business owner. You should know that one of the best ways to keep people coming to your establishment is by referrals, marketing sales, trends, and increasing customer satisfaction I find that you don't know what you're doing. Just buy the fact that you were closed tonight and I will never be back ever ever ever ever ever ever again.

Visited this place after an amazing dinner at Tranis Dockside. Buddy and I figure we will have a night cap. It's 8pm on a Wednesday and there's 4 people in there. We order 4 makers marks and when my card is ran the grand total is $88! You read that right $88! If you do the math on that I'm charged $22 a drink! So there is that but I also neglected to mention the guy with the face tattoo who walks up to my buddy and I and says "you're going to buy me a drink". Lol when he realized the only free thing he was going to get was an a** whoopin he moved onto the next group of lucky patrons. I would avoid this dump at all costs unless any of the above sounds appealing to you. Good riddance.

We had a great time listing to music, dancing and hanging out at this old time bar in San Pedro. Vince [from the old Blue Cafe in Long Beach] was managing that night, it was like old times. Godmothers is the real deal.
