?? CROATIA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - When you see the large roof-mounted rooster crowing over Pacific Avenue in San Pedro, you know you have arrived at the right place. What began as a poultry butcher in 1922 (yes, 102 years ago!) became more of a fast food restaurant in the 1950’s and 1960’s when they changed locations twice. This gave the opportunity for the Croatian immigrant owners to sneak some foods from back home onto the menu.

Rude service, sub par chicken. Absolutely nothing memorable about this place. The old man behind the counter is the rudest person I've ever encountered. I ordered the chicken nuggets, roast beef sandwich and 1/2 fried chicken to go. The chicken isn't that great, and the roast beef was basic and plain. I spent $35 to get yelled at by an old Croatian man who hates people. Plenty of other places to try. Beware...

Walked in and ordered a 12 pc Chicken and we got free potato wedges with our order. The chicken is the BEST! It taste really good. The potato wedges also good Inside the restaurant there is plenty of space to eat in and the booths are huge. The service is great and welcoming! If your looking for fried chicken Slavko's I recommend!

I thought it was pretty good when I first showed up but when I got there and I realized I was sitting there and you know I spend about a few minutes I was around and I saw that one I guess there's really no customer service there and there's just one older guy older guy or who he is but he is very rude rude and very rude to people who are just you know I'm surprised they're still in business to be honest with you cuz they're chicken isn't really that good and they really don't do anything like remarkable I mean KFC tastes a lot better than they do KFC fight right now that's that's still in business there and when the people came in like people that were just like either they were walking or whatever it is he was just rude to them it was just rude and like trying to chase him out of his out of the place and I've seen a couple there at the table eating some potatoes and he whatever it was forcing them out you know and he's like wow I was like wow what kind of son of a b**** what kind of person so I would never go there again I would never go there again

This stalwart has been gracing our town for over a century, and their offerings reflect the rich tradition and culinary expertise they've honed over the years.The standout star on their menu is, without doubt, their fried chicken. Expertly seasoned and fried to perfection, this is a dish that takes you on a flavorful journey from the first bite to the last. The skin is deliciously crispy, the meat succulent and tender – it's quite simply the best fried chicken you'll find in town.The potatoes and cevapcici are equally impressive, adding a satisfying heft and unique flavor profile that perfectly complements the chicken. I've yet to find another place that does these dishes justice the way Slavkos does.My only reservation, and the reason for the four-star rating, is the restaurant's ambiance. While the food evokes a sense of comfort and nostalgia, the interior of Slavkos falls somewhat short of that. It's not that it's unpleasant, just that it doesn't quite match the caliber of their food. A more inviting, warm, and modern interior could truly transform the dining experience here. I wish that I could sit and enjoy a meal with friends in the restaurant.Despite this, I wholeheartedly recommend Slavkos Harbor Poultry for their excellent food. The slight shortcoming in ambiance is easily outweighed by their masterful cooking. Take-out is a great option, but I do hope they revamp the dining area to reflect the quality and tradition they represent. Until then, I'm more than happy to enjoy their incredible cuisine from the comfort of my home.

Great place for chicken ribs nuggets always fresh and hot like all real San Perdrans raise on this food
I called ahead to make sure they were open and headed over. First visit so Jim provided us some samples and we left with a pile of potato and chicken nuggets, jalapeño poppers, and bbq ribs. I wanted to stop for some beer but guess what? Slavko's sells beer so we got a six-pack of Estrella. Needed ketchup too, and he sold us a bottle! It's a one stop shop!!!We enjoyed all the goodies!

Great local joint in San Pedro. Amazing tasting chicken and ribs. When you're looking for some downhome cooking and you really want a really good and affordable local joint this is the place for you! We walked in and the owner immediately started feeding us free samples, I just love that! We got to try the ribs the chicken and the amazing potatoes. We got a sample plate with baked beans ribs, fried chicken and we also ordered some gizzards and definitely the star of the show is the ribs the chicken and the potatoes but I also liked the gizzards. They do need a unsweetened iced tea at the joint in case the owners are reading this lol. I will definitely be coming back I love the vintage vibe and the great affordable food, screw Lucille's this is the place to come to!
