Calgang Thai Eatery Reviews
I wouldn't call it "authentic" by any means but it wasn't too horrible, either. Good location and not a bad place for lunch. $15 lunch combo comes with 2 options + steamed rice and salad. Salad has a dressing that's very mustard forward so it was a hard pass for me. Pad Thai is overly sweet 3/5 Red chicken curry was good 4/5, although I found it to be super sweet and heavy on the coconut milk Potstickers were awesome! 5/5 I liked it better than the actual food Service was good,...read full review
I ordered all my food from the appetizer menu, and I enjoyed each of three items. First, one of my favorites, Tod Mun, was delicious, and hot, and came with the perfect cucumber salad/sauce. Not many options for food in the area in the evenings. Had a friend in the hospital and I went to get some dinner. My options were Calgang, the Poke place (which is takeout only), Round Table or Sonoma Taco shop. As others mentioned, the sauce was watery, but the potatoes were cooked well. It didn't taste bad, but I would have liked a thicker sauce with my rice. It felt more like a curry soup. The service was okay. They promptly brought me tea when i requested it.
