I wanted to give this 4 stars, but here's the problem. They raised their prices and don't have very transparent pricing. I got an iced coffee and they charged me $5... but the sign says 3.5 and there are some sizes listed, but the menu is oddly hard to follow, so its unclear with the small print and way they created their menu. They make you buy a tumbler size (which is more money) to go into the play space (which is something like $15 a kid now. I'm still not sure), so I left spending $41 to watch my kids play in an indoor treehouse for 40 mins, have one string cheese for one kid, a coffee for me, and muffin for the other. I'll probably go to PlayTek in San Anselmo or make my own coffee and go to a park instead next time. The kids do like it and the atmosphere is nice, but they usually get bored after 30-40 mins, so we'll see. I love the idea and we've been a few times, but the prices are high for the value.

I feel like I've tried all the coffee in Marin, Fox and Kit keeps me coming back. They pour the most consistent shot, and with smiles on their faces. They even have amazing French pastries and other goodies. But beware, there are .....MANY children there on rainy days! It might take a bit longer to get a coffee on those days but well worth it.

We did our kids 1st birthday here yesterday and the staff did a wonderful job. They helped unload our car upon arrival, packed all the leftovers when it was time to leave - they brought the crowd together for our sons happy birthday sing along, they reloaded the party trays when needed - I think this the premier place for children's birthdays in all of the Bay Area.

This is by far the best cafe in the San Rafael area for great coffees, pastries, and other nibbles in the best designed space in probably all of Marin. And that's just the cafe! There's an entire indoor kids play space that is just adorable and super creative. You won't find it's equal anywhere in all of Marin. The service team is super friendly and helpful even when they are slammed. Parking is also easy with a city lot directly across the street. We just wish there was more businesses in the area this good!

Hands down, Fox & Kit is my very favorite cafe. They are so thoughtful about every aspect of the customer experience. From the stunning interior (!!) to the quality of everything they serve (and how they serve it), Fox & Kit sets the bar. The staff is great and the indoor playground is so much fun for kids -- and a work of art. I hear the coffee is excellent, but I'm a tea drinker. Their teas are wonderful. Anyone who has hosted or attended a private party there knows what a gem this place is for small events. We had our son's 5th birthday party there and it was the easiest and so much fun. And the decorations!! They were fabulous. I always look forward to going to F&K. It's a really special place. Highly recommended.

Totally radical place to take your toddler or under 12 kiddos!! a contained play zone with hidden tunnels and ladders and costumes! My kid who is 4.5 spent about 3 hours there and slept so well that night. So we went back three days in a row. Today is day four! Perfect for time when you don’t have a sitter, it’s vacation and you’re stuck in town or just need something new! The cafe is separate and you can watch your kid or sit and have a latte or pellegrino. If you’re not a wheat and sugar person, bring snacks! They only have pastries and oatmeal. 10/10 and would be 20/10 if there were some non grain and sugar food options like hard boiled eggs?Also could be good to have one dedicated staff member with bright vest in the chaos so that parents don’t have to play referee! We love you Fox & Kit!! ???Kid-friendliness: Literally best kid zone i’ve been too- controlled chaos with a latte lounge if you need a breather! Met lots of awesome local parents too! Great chill spot for connecting while kids have a blast and the smallness makes for kids connection more effective!!???

One star for the enjoyment of our kid. I don't usually give bad reviews. And before I did, I look through all the comments and then a comment from another customer validated my experience. Aside from the indoor playground and the nice employees. Nothing is great. First, very high mark up for sub par products. Second, not maintained indoor play area. Stairs could use changes in the play area. Need a carpet or less slippery material. Third, a rude owner. I thought it was just me but after talking to some parents and then seeing another comment here. I'm just astounded with the impoliteness of that person. I think it's best to leave customer interactions to his employees.

There’s nothing else like it in the Bay. We drive here from Oakland monthly to experience it.The only way you get this kind of interior design and overall experience beauty is if the owners designed it themselves and continue to be present to care for it, and that’s what is happening here. A piece of art.

Great place to take your young kids to run and play while you enjoy a special cup of coffee, they do have a $12 charge for the use of the kids play room, best to bring a friend with their young ones and plan on hanging out for a good hour, not a 10 minute drop in.
