This company is pretty awesome in my opinion. Great restaurants. Great concepts. Love the food. Ambiance. Service.Sounds to me like the complainers here are folks who can’t acknowledge COVID affected ALL OF US.

Similar to Alyson, who left a review below, I booked an event for my wedding at one of their restaurants in Portland, OR for June 19th. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID-19, and asked the restaurant to push our event to next year. After many months with no answers, we were told the restaurant will be closing, and we are unable to reschedule our event. Given that, we requested our refund for the event back. We have been given the runaround between Tim Harmon (CEO of Moana Restaurant Group) and the restaurant. Ultimately, we have been told that Moana Restaurant Group is the responsible entity for the refund and they have gone silent on us. I am disappointed in the way I have been treated during this difficult time and am livid that they don't have the decency to properly communicate how this will be handled. I would encourage anyone else who is experiencing this to post here so we understand the magnitude of the refunds they are withholding and can act, together, accordingly.

The lack of communication this company has is very disappointing and unprofessional! I had a wedding booked at one of there restaurants in Portland Or for June 27th when all the covid hit. I had been trying to be in contact with the restaurant directly for months regarding if deposit would be sent back to me or what would happen, the restaurant would hardly respond and when they did respond it would be saying Moana Group would be contacting me... Here we are 2 months later since i have continuously been asking the restaurant for updates and for 2 months they have been saying Moana would be contacting me and STILL NO CONTACT. At this point my wedding would be about 40 days a way and yes I know they cant change the shut down but I have not gotten my 500 dollar deposit back or any contact as to what will be happening!

The Moana Restaurant group purchased Lark Creek. They closed it and employees didn’t know till they showed up the next day. They have now shut down Yankee Pier. One week notice. This group is not concerned with keeping local favorite restaurants in our communities.
