I ordered a Chicken kebab rice platter. It was the saltiest Mediterranean food I've ever had in my entire life. I asked for side of tzatziki sauce In hopes to minimize the extreme saltiness of the food, at which point they tried charging me $1 extra - on top of the $30.59 I already paid. We could not even finish what we had ordered because it was so salty.

Stopped at 4th Street Market a busy event got the Chicken Shawarma plate and the Falafel wrap for dinner and the Chefs Special French Fries for an appetizer followed by the Turkish coffee and baklava for dessert! Fed three of us and enjoyed every bite! The chicken Shawarma plate was amazing just the right mix of garlic and salt to bless the taste buds and fill the tummy! Our 2 year old gobbled up the chicken and the falafel I've never seen her eat so fast. The chefs special French fries a great opener snack if you're not feeling the loaded fries just get the regular ones. Perfect amount of crisp and salt and garlic goodness! Sprinkle that with a cheese blend and some beef gyro and now it's loaded for your pleasure!

Buqqa Mediterranean Grill is undeniably delicious but the associated costs are tear-inducing. 4th Street Market seems to be in some kind of 5th-year funk. The last of the OG food stands finally died with the closing of Dos Chinos last month, there are currently 3 vacant spots for the first time ever. To entice customers they are now offering free parking at the Spurgeon Street lot and remodeling an exterior that was just refreshed in 2015. Needing to bring in new and varied genres is an obvious conclusion and to that end, enter: Buqqa Mediterranean Grill. Buqqa Mediterranean Grill brings classic Halal dishes with meats prepared on the familiar Döner (gyro) rotisserie. Founded as a food truck by chef Tony Elmas, the signature items include Kebab Plates, Wraps, Salads, and large size Platters. The service is solid and the ambiance is the typical trendy food hall fast-casual format. The menu is simple: Choose the Protein and format and... well, that is about it. Thanks to the proteins always being at the ready, you should have your order in 5 minutes tops. More on the price schedule in a bit. I tried the Chicken Kabab Salad Platter and must admit it was utterly flavorsome featuring moist, succulent Chicken within each fire-grilled piece with a perfect amount of char on the outside. The Chicken Kebob meat is plated on top of a Salad made with an uber-fresh Salad sporting sour Pickles, Onion, Cucumber, and an astounding Tzaziki dressing. There is also a stupendous Potato Salad included just because. You: "Aaron -- that sounds incredible -- what gives with only awarding 3-stars?". I am sure the opening gave away the reason. The Chicken Kabab Salad Platter is $14.00 alone. I made the mistake of ordering bottled water as well and walked away after paying nearly $18.00 feeling uneasy with the fact that what is usually a $10.00 experience for me in Orange County nearly doubled at a place with a quarter of the usual overhead. These are full-service prices - particularly in Meditteranean. Would I return? Most likely not. This is possibly the hottest genre after Nashville Hot Chicken so far in 2020 and there are just too many options to pay this kind of premium even if it is a stellar rendition. That said, you can do a hell of a lot worse at the 4th Street Market.
