I am someone who lived in San Diego in the 80s and 90s and always admired Ralph Rubio and this restaurant concept, as the little chain that could. They focused on good fish tacos, it was (slightly) more upscale than typical fast food, and not as fancy as upscale Mexican food restaurants. Terrible portions!! I got a chopped salad and it was barely halfway up the bowl. The chips came in this little baggie with maybe 12 chips. The salad and chips were good. The service was good, I saw an employee helping out a woman who was deaf and was very patient.
