Whoever said their spicy chicken was not really that spicy is totally lying. It' SO spicy! Mine was filled with both red and green chiles. Aside from the heat, the flavor of the dish was great. And it comes at a great price too. I think it's a great meal to have when you're craving some comfort food. Overall I would come back and would also recommend it to other in the area.

Decided to try this place out on a whim. Got the combo with milk tea. I got the braised chicken authentic. It was perfect spice level for me. So flavorful. Even my 2 year old devoured it. (I didn't give him any peppers) The hubs liked it too. He wants to try spicy next time. And i don't know what they put in their milk tea but it was bomb. I'd go again just for that hahaha. Service was quick and friendly. I'd definitely return.

How strong must your conviction be to have a restaurant with one menu item? Yang's is that place. Braised chicken with rice is offered with no spice, authentic spice, or spicy. Those are your options. I had the authentic. I will be back.

I read the history of Yang's Braised Chicken Rice on the wall while waiting for my food. Huangmen chicken is a popular dish from northern China. Yang used to eat this dish that his grandmother would make for him. He became a chef and perfected the recipe. He opened a restaurant that only served this one dish. Now there are 6,000 locations worldwide. Way to go Yang! Yang's Braised Chicken Rice Bowl is really straightforward. There's a whole pound of boneless chicken thighs cut into small pieces and braised in a claypot. There are sliced shitaake mushrooms, serrano peppers, and ginger slices. There are three spice levels for the soy based stew. And that's it. It's similar to a dish my mom makes. It's definitely a bowl of comfort food.

This place is on the list for favs! I appreciate and like how simple the menu is. I'd rather someone be a pro at one thing than to be a jack of all trades and not be excellent in anything. The chicken is soft and tender and not too spicy, or sweet. The sauce is a bit too oily and not as thick as it used to be before, but I'll look past this since the service and chicken always manages to satisfy me. The wait is always "10 minutes" and tbh, it's probably shorter than that! I love how quick and easy this is and the rice is always super good as well considering how picky I am with how rice is supposed to taste. The price is well suited for the quantity of rice and chicken you get and is better than most chicken&rice places. I recommend getting the spicy bowl! I'm not good at handling spice at all but the spicy chicken bowl doesn't hurt and it's the right amount for a spicy feeling. Visit this place if you can or feeling like chicken night. Thanks for a good experience like always ! :)

I love how simple their menu is and the reasonable pricing. I mean where else can you find a decent meal for $9.99 in Irvine anymore? I ordered take-out on the phone for one chicken rice bowl (authentic). I normally don't like my food spicy unless it's really good, and I can confidently say that this is worth the spice! The spiciness adds a kick (enhanced) to the flavor and it is totally tolerable. Very tasty and affordable. Definitely recommended and will come back for more!

Would you like a chicken bowl or chicken bowl? Yang's Braised Chicken simplifies the ordering process as they only offer braised chicken under one size, with your choice of regular, authentic or spicy flavored. That's not a bad thing. I enjoyed the authentic flavored for the slight kick. The chicken is cut into small strips, with a mix of both dark and white meat. The chicken is cooked with ginger root and mushrooms which rounds the flavor nicely. The authentic flavor also added thin sliced peppers/jalapeños which brought a great taste to the braise. The rice portion should be plenty for most people, but you can also request extra. I slowly added my rice to the braise as I didn't want to have soggy rice. I'll need to come back to try the spicy flavor, but that won't be until I'm craving another chicken bow, which is the reason why I gave them 4 out of 5. There really is only 1 choice here. Staff was friendly and kind while eating inside here.
