I absolutely love this place! Great food, great drinks! Amazing people! Kind, courteous, and accommodating. Love downtown and uptown. Highly recommended, or locals and visitors.

The fish and chips last night was absolutely delectable. The out exterior of the batter was so light and fluffy and yet still so crisp which harmonized ever so perfectly with the flaky white fish in the middle. It was definitely some of the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life, however it also was the only meal I've had in the last 24 hours and i have been on the toilet for the past 12 hours. I did not sleep until 7:30 am because i had to go back and forth every 20 minutes. I am currently on the toilet as i am writing this right now and it is 5:06 pm. Try it at your own risk

Went on a Friday and seating was great, ambiance was great but what in the world was wrong with my burger? I had no idea what I was biting into. My meat was supposed to be medium and all 3 burgers that we got tasted so odd.... Over cooked and we weren't able to bite through the meat? Felt like it was over cooked, and then reheated in the microwave... It was busy but that doesn't excuse why our burger was not edible...

Nice place, decent foods, little pricey, rude staff. Just like looks of other places in town

Food and service is great, but menu is a little limited. Probably the best fries in the city. Great place for kids as there is a play area with supervision on certain days.

A nice casual restaurant in upper State Street area of Santa Barbara. Located right next to the municipal golf course and MacKenzie Park, it is centrally located between the Samarkand and San Roque neighborhoods. With a full bar and various options for beer and wine there are plenty of choices to be enjoyed on the outdoor patio, which hosts some unobstructed views of the Santa Ynez Mountains.Dining options consist of an eclectic mix of pub and bar style food, such as hamburgers, salads, and even chicken cordon bleu. The food is tasty and decent quality but certainly not fine dining. The outdoor patio is spacious and can easily accommodate both small and large groups. There’s even a dedicated area in the back for small children. While the space is clean and comfortable, it’s fairly average in terms of decor and ambience. The view can certainly compensate for this on a nice day.At peak times parking can be a challenge as there appears to be more seating space than the parking lot can accommodate. If dining as a group, best to come in as few vehicles as possible.Parking: Parking lot and street parking nearby though it can be filled quickly during busy hours.Kid-friendliness: Dedicated area for small children implies overall kid friendliness

I am SO glad I found out about their Valentine's Day dinner. My mom treated my two girls (1.5 years and 4.5 years) and I to their set menu for the night. My mom and I ordered opposite items so we could taste each others- and we were THRILLED with our dinner. The soups were delicious, I loved the Caesar dressing, salmon was cooked perfectly, the churros and chocolate cake were damn good. The place is HUGE and the view of the mountains at sunset were gorgeous. My kids ran around having a blast and I never had to worry about disturbing other couples because they have it set up where the kids section is hidden away but still has a 'fancy' vibe. But I also didn't worry about being judged when my kid was being an A-hole and throwing a fit. I just drank my wine, ate my delicious food and looked to other parents who cheers-ed me in unity of our bratty kids. I will definitely return so my kids can play and I can enjoy myself/treat myself to delicious food. I would also return without my kids for a date night with my husband; it's the best of both worlds there (The server was a little slow and forgot about us a couple times- but it ain't stopping me from returning; she was still very sweet) And to end on a positive because I had such a great experience; The special tortilla soup should be added to the menu permanently!!

My wife and I loved this place. It's super family friendly and has amazing food. The staff and ownership are friendly and professional every time. The outdoor patio is extremely comfortable and has great views of the Santa Ynez mountains. Whether you just want to enjoy some wine around their many fire pits, or have a tasty sit down meal, you won't find a better place!

This a very kid friendly place ! That's about it. The food and drinks were pretty bad. One person in our group ordered a burger and it was as hard as a rock. The burger Probably sat on the grill for a few hours is our assumption. The service was pretty slow as well. The other folks in our group were pretty unhappy with their food as well. We heard good things about there newer location but were pretty displeased

Super busy when we arrived but Christian the bartender/waiter saved the day. He did a great job getting to us and everyone else on the patio. Seemed like they were understaffed and had some very large groups walk in. Brunch menu was much smaller than last time. We had the beet salad and eggs bene and they were good. Lots of kids who loved our 2 dogs.

Worst burger ever! Reminded me of Costo's frozen burger patties, rubbery texture with no flavor at all. All other food were also bland and flavorless. Be Aware!

I have been a fan of Brass Bear for years, love the funk zone location and was excited when uptown opened. I ignored the first few experiences as they were new and just getting their stuff organized. Now I have no excuses left to give them. Came in for dinner and received no silverware or napkins (we asked 3-4 times) flavorless mashed potatoes, an over cooked burger and to top it off...the brownie that is described with fresh whipped cream and pecans came with canned whipped cream and walnuts (which I am allergic to). I came with a group to do cocktail tasting, we ordered 8 cocktails and they were all TERRIBLE. Now I know what you are saying; bad taste, bad night, bad ordering but no....the cocktail tasted like A) water or B) dirty bar rag. The server was hard to find, the food was sub par and the drinks were awful. My advice, go anywhere else.

We reserved some tables for my 5yo's birthday party and had a great time. Caitlin did a great job of walking us through our options and helping us find something that fit our needs. The food was delicious, the kids all enjoyed the play area, and staff made everything smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend Brass Bear Brewing Uptown for fun and easy gatherings!
