they roast their own coffee, offer locally sourced items to eat like empanadas from Buena Onda and have a great patio, perfect for meetings and a cozy conversation with friends.

Great local coffee place, tasty food, great gift selection too! Spacious, nice indoor and outdoor space. Highly recommended!

Great coffee and nice people. Food is very good. Easy to see why it has so many regulars. Some of the best cold brew I’ve ever had.

Great gluten free options! Lovely service, fun (Industrial) atmosphere, music playing at a reasonable volume, and unique additional items for sale (such as greeting cards and handmade tea towels). I will request an additional pump of lavender in the lavender lemonade next time. A bit too subtle for my taste.

This is hands down THE best coffee in town. Always friendly and quick moving staff, gluten free options and great baked goods. Love the jalapeño cheese bagels! Yum.

This place is the most allergy friendly place in Santa Barbara/Goleta. I’ve lived here for years with a gluten, nut and dairy allergy. This place is not only REALLY good food, but they are very conscious and ordering online with three allergies has never been so easy. Do not miss this spot!!!!

One of the best brunch spots in the Goleta Coffee Co / Loca Vivant Kitchen. Quite long wait to get a table for on a weekend for brunch so we took the food to go and ate in the car. The food Goleta Coffee Co / Loca Vivant Kitchen.

A fascinating menu with very original and natural tasting food that feels healthy and real. Will certainly visit again.

Warm inviting locals cafe. Especially great if you want plant-based, vegan, gluten-free options. They really aim to please. This place is always a favorite in part because of the commitment to offering many options and no up charge for non-cow pus milk. Also a thank you shout out to the staff like Carly. You can appreciate her smile through her eyes. They really know service even though you order and usually pick it up at the counter, but they will bring it to you as well sometimes. They've got a lot of super food lattes. There's outdoor seating and shade or sun. They leave the doors open so there's good airflow. And there's also wonderful shirts on the wall honoring first responders and celebrating different fire stations. They have fresh soup of the day and seasonal additions to the menu. We've had about three different types of the avocado toast. Today I had the savory seed one which was delicious and I feel so healthy after indulging in it

used to love it here before the menu changed but I stopped in today just for 2 pastries and ended up waiting 8 minutes. Usually no issue with waiting I understand rushes especially in coffee shops but I didn't order coffee so it kind of made me feel like they didn't keep a good track of orders. I had to ask someone about my order and she said "oh they forgot" and directed me to the bakery end. My only issue is that once I asked , they had attitude and quickly handed my order to me & then I found a hair in my pastries. Sooo disappointed in customer service and just baffled in the way they handled forgetting my order. won't be going back any time soon

It's a pleasure to review Goleta Coffee Co / Loca Vivant Kitchen after Elite Yelper Hanna S. and Community Manager Richie D. The first thing I want to do is reiterate some of the great things these folks have written: - This business is very friendly to vegans and plant-based eaters - There is no 'vegan tax' (upcharge for plant-based milks) - The seasonal (and regular) menus include veggie, vegan, and gluten-free options, and feature plenty of locally-sourced ingredients and collaborations Now to add some details of my own: on both of my two visits (on Mondays around 12:30pm) the place was temporarily overrun by students on open-campus lunch from nearby San Marcos High. My advice? Arrive before noon or after 1pm to avoid this young lunch rush. That aside, I've been able to snag a table out front both times. Sitting outdoors was the only appealing option, unfortunately, because despite the mask mandate many customers indoors (both from the high school and not) were unmasked--even though employees were diligently following Covid-safer procedures. On my visits I've tried: - The 'un-bagel' ($2): a deliciously dense, keto-friendly, vegan, grain-free round of goodness. I had mine toasted with no spread on top, and the rich oils crisped up nicely. The 'un-bagel' was so flavorful, with the right touch of salt, that it was super on its own. - The almond coconut vegan, gluten-free brownie ($3.50): while not usually a chocolate person, I wanted something sweet and was pleased to see a vegan option. The brownie was great--not too heavy nor too cakey, but firm with slightly crispy edges. The slivered almonds added a richness and crunch, and the light coconut flavor provided a special overtone. - The refillable for-here house cup of coffee (menu says $2.50 but I've been charged $2.75 both times): love the eco-friendly option, which entitles one to sample multiple types of the fun varieties of coffee on offer (there are standard types as well as neat options like cinnamon bun and vanilla nut). As someone who easily becomes over-caffeinated, it's also great that I can switch to decaf, and there have been two types of decaf available both days I visited. One had been brewed in the morning and was cold, but the friendly barista offered to steam it to hot, frothy perfection for me. With vegan offerings, a gender-neutral restroom, and mostly friendly customer service (on my first visit the young manager with long blonde hair and a European accent was bristly), I'll be paying this place more visits. It's been a relaxed study environment (using headphones for a little musical facilitation during busy times). While I haven't found any outlets in front for computer usage, a fully-charged laptop, digital text, and fast, free wi-fi have made studying here easy.

delicious, quality coffee! plenty of food choices as well and cute merch including mugs, tea towels, shirts etc. Looks inconspicuous from the outside but is spacious and decorated inside.

Took nearly an hour for bagel sandwiches. Then they didn't even make one of them. Offered no refund for inconvenience. Food was just so so. Mixed up the coffee orders too.

I'd like to start by saying I love Goleta coffee co! A cold brew latte and jalapeño cheddar bagel bring me so much happiness! But I do have a suggestion after making a purchase this morning. I have been taking advantage of the order system online to avoid lines and waiting. Today, there was a line to the door so I went to the pickup counter to ask for my order that I had already paid for. The employee reluctantly retrieved it but told me next time I needed to wait in the line. I was surprised to learn even though I had ordered and prepaid, I still had to wait in the line. I think it is silly to have an order ahead/prepay system if I am still required to wait for my order when it is ready behind the counter. Knowing this, I am probably less likely to use this system and will just run into Starbucks where I know I do not have to wait in line after placing a mobile order. I'll probably ask someone next time I'm at Goleta Coffee for some clarification but that interaction this morning left me disappointed and rethinking where I'll pickup my coffee some mornings.
