Delicious gluten free bread, cakes, and desserts. Also a great breakfast / brunch spot. Always nice staff. Okay coffee as well.

My husband and I were in Santa Barbara for a few days. We stopped at a local coffee shop and a customer waiting for their order overheard me ask the cashier if they had gluten-free options...they had two. Well, this kind woman told me if I want great gluten-free food, go to Lilac Patisserie. So the next morning we were there. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. That woman overhearing me has made me a huge fan of Lilac Patisserie. Our breakfasts were excellent. I have been gluten-free for over seven years and the breakfast was by far the best gluten-free breakfast I have ever had. My husband is not gluten-free and he said he could not taste the difference. The ambiance is warm and friendly. The service was professional and we didn't feel rushed to order. The line was long now and then while we were there but the meal was worth the wait. We did not have to wait for a table. There is inside and outside seating. We even purchased some baked goods to bring back home to Los Angeles with us. Lilac Patisserie is a MUST every time we visit Santa Barbara.

This place is definitely one of the best brunch spot in town. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. All pastries are really tasty and love the fresh brewed coffee. Fruits and vegetable are fresh and from local farms. Orange juice is fresh squeezed. We really liked the lilac breakfast plate and pancake. I look forward on coming back again for brunch. Thank you.

My wife and I have been coming here since 2015. Due to my wife having celiac disease, we always make it a point to stop here when visiting Santa Barbara. Although I'm not restricted to a gluten free diet, I really enjoy their food. You would never know their food is gluten free and tastes better than most non gluten free restaurants. I highly recommend their breakfast sandwich with their homemade brioche bread but everything is Amazing! Make sure to make this a must stop while in Santa Barbara.

If you are gluten free then you'll feel like you hit the jackpot! The entire cafe is gluten free with a varied menu for brunch or lunch. The pastries are yummy, you won't even know they are GF Worth the trip from Los Angeles

I usually only leave reviews that I believe are 5 stars, but this was disappointing enough to break that streak for me. Honestly nothing special and even less so for their prices. Ate a breakfast sandwich that wouldn't have been worth $10, let alone $20. Too much bread that wasn't even enjoyable. Tried their lemon meringue tart and coffee cake. Both were good, till you see they're close to $10 each. The arnold palmer I had was fine, and the service was pretty good. Tipping a 15% $6 for what amounted pressing to a tablet about 10 times seems ridiculous, but tipping culture is ridiculous as it is. All-in-all, fancy looking and expensive with little substance.

Love how Lilac Patisserie stays true to their word, committing to a gluten free menu! My friend is gluten free so we love having this option that doesn't require us to look through menus after menus to make sure she will be able to enjoy the food. There are plenty of tables indoors and outdoor seating as well! Wouldn't recommend for large groups, unless you're open to splitting up. The decor is super cute for pics and of course, food is delish as well :)

A lovely cafe that is dedicated gluten free. They have bakery items for sale as well. I ordered the pancakes with fruit and whipped cream , along with bacon and eggs. OMG it was delicious. Others at my table ordered the Lox Benedict, which was thoroughly enjoyed and a turkey sandwich that looked amazing and got a great review. I then snuck off to get a slice of the most delectable lemon cheesecake. We all enjoyed it. Lastly, I could not resist purchasing a Brioce loaf and some gf flour. You've got me hooked!

Lilac is a MUST for breakfast. The quiche Lorraine was the BEST I've ever had! Actually, everything we had was incredible! From the iced tea to a simple side salad - all were perfect!

We came here from a personal recommendation, and so glad that we did! The patisserie is located right on state Street and has both indoor and outdoor seating on a quiet street. We decided to order the French toast and a Croque monsieur both of which were fabulous. It wasn't until I looked at the sign that I realized everything was gluten-free, which was even more amazing. The breads were light and fluffy and not too dry. I took one star off because of the salted caramel latte I got was not really my cup of tea (coffee). It was very heavy on the salt and after paying eight dollars for it was just a little disappointed. For service you order at the counter and then you can take a seat where they bring the food out to you.

A gluten free paradise! I had a delightful meal and two (!!) desserts. The service was wonderful. I highly recommend if you are gluten free or not!
