It was a simple request. I ordered a Hope Ranch grilled chicken sandwich, no sauce, on a lettuce wrap with a side of carrots instead of french fries. After close to 10 minutes I received my meal. The sandwich was swimming in sauce. I requested that they do something to take the sauce off of it and they offered to make a new sandwich. The server returned with a single piece of chicken and one piece of lettuce. The chicken sandwich typically comes with bacon, cheese, tomatoes and grilled chicken. When they offered to make me a new sandwich I expected to get a new sandwich with everything that it comes with considering that I paid a lot of money for a chicken sandwich, but I received a flat piece of chicken and a single piece of lettuce in a bowl. I informed the server and she went back to the kitchen where the chef proceeded, in a loud enough tone that he could be heard in the dining room, and I believe some things were thrown around in the kitchen, that he was told to remake the meal without bacon, without tomato, without cheese. If that was the case, I don't blame him for being angry, but I certainly did not need to hear it. To spare the staff further confusion, because obviously my request was too complicated, and to spare them further wrath from the chef, and because I could not spend an entire day in Mesa Burger waiting for a single chicken sandwich, I ate my last carrot stick and left. Those were the most expensive carrot sticks I've ever had in my life. I'll go to the nugget in Summerland for my grilled chicken sandwich on lettuce wrap instead.

I'm leaving a review because of the GREAT customer service and because the place has really nice indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good ...and should be because it's not cheap (please keep in mind we are talking about Montecito CA). If you pass by Mesa Burger often and thought about trying it, GO FOR IT. I did and I'm glad I did :)

Great food, lots of patio and indoor seating, and very kid and dog friendly. We were looking for a kid friendly spot in Montecito. This place was perfect! The menu has a ton of options in addition to the traditional burger and fries. I had a salad and it was really fresh and delicious. One kid had grilled cheese and the other had buttered pasta- both were delicious. Kids meals come with carrots, apples or fries. My son wanted to ask the chef where he buys the apples because they were so good! Haha! And the staff were so friendly and helpful with any requests.

Stopped here a couple times for lunch on our way to/from the central coast and it always hits the spot. Great burger and really good fries. Salad is good too. Price is decent and service is nice wether eating in or taking out.

Got food poisoning here a few months ago :( it was awful because I stopped to eat here on the way to a concert for my favorite band and I felt sick the entire time it really ruined the experience. I have not been back since.

Googled for best burger in town and Mesa was one of the options. However we were not very impressed! The food took forever to come out fries were cold, young man that took our order got it wrong. I order sweet potato fries got regular fries I order a burger,salad,grilled cheese and he also forgot the grilled cheese. Then we had to reorder the grilled cheese which took 30 mins (for a grilled cheese sandwich that takes 5 mins to make ) the cheese in the grilled cheese was uneatable no flavor tasted like fake cheese my child would not eat it said it was gross which is why I tried to and yea not good threw it away. Burger seemed as of it was a pre made patty that had been frozen not much flavor. Disappointed

At first glance, Mesa seems like just another burger joint. I couldn't have been more wrong with that assumption. Even though it took around 15 minutes for the food to come out, the wait was worth it. The Goodland burger was PACKED with food. The onion rings were thick and crisp. The milkshake was especially good; rich, creamy and smooth. Customer service was excellent! The man taking our order helped us personalize our burgers to our tastes and the lady who brought the food out was so nice to talk to! Overall, it was a very nice casual sit down place. Parking is limited and you may have to walk a little bit on the busier nights.
