Food was delicious. Staff was great . Very friendly. Smaller laid-back restaurant where you can feel relaxed. Definitely will be back again.

Fantastic local hang out with a terrific staff, great atmophere and down to earth prices. Menu is very traditional American with some Italian dishes. Portions are good and the value is there. Best part are the dishes are planned and excuted well. The ceaser salad is excellent and the dressing tasty. Ask for croutons; they don't normally put them on. I ordered the meat loaf and it was some of the best meat loaf I've ever had. I swear it had wine in it and no filler. Meals often come with soup and salad so come hungry. Great bartender and a silly but fun wine list. So comfortable you won't want to leave. Cheers of SB.

We stopped in for brunch after visiting the Farners' Market across the street. Service was brisk and friendly. Food was delicious. Recommended.

Absolutely wonderful all around. The service was amazing and our food was top notch. We ordered the seared ahi, steak bites, and spaghetti. Good choice of wines by the glass and bottle. Would definitely come back!

Not good, Jill , the owner was very rude, with no reason , after all she is the one that came to introduce herself at the table,

This spot hits it on every level. Its a hole in the wall but I understand why this family has been so successful- I left satisfied, fulfilled, eager to return, happy to have met so many wonderful and attentive staff members etc.... I will be back for more very VERY soon. Thank you.

The friendly server let us look at a menu, and we were hooked. Wide variety of salads and sandwiches as well as full meals. Outdoor seating was good.

We went here for a delayed Mother's Day meal. What a treat. We like that it is not in a busy area and you wouldn't even know it was there unless you were told. Talk about quality meat! They must age it. When was the last time you saw a small restaurant have lobster on the menu? Yep, that was calling my name. Others in our party had the filet mignon and the ribeye. You won't be disappointed with either of them. The garlic bread keeps you asking for more, and that we did. What really surprised us is that the meal comes with both soup and salad, but it was small amounts so you didn't fill up before the main course. I thought I didn't like pea soup, but me oh my, who would guess it could be so delicious? They put a lot of yummy things in theirs, I could have had seconds. Even though you don't have room for dessert, you must try. We shared the banana foster and it had such a great flavor. The carrot cake was a good choice also. We are so glad we found a restaurant that will continue drawing us back to Santa Barbara.

Lots of cuts already packaged and ready to go. Call ahead for a specific cut or amount.

We loved this family-owned restaurant so much that we dined here twice in the two days we were in town. The service was fantastic the staff really made us feel welcome, took our order of Shrimp cocktail, sauteed mushrooms, soup salad, toasted garlic bread! New York steak with a baked potato, Porkchop and scallop potato topped with a crust of baked cheese, Lamb with potato tots and mint jelly, and in what seemed like no time what so ever we were dining. All the portions very generous and overall, the price was reasonable. Our adult beverage of choice was a fine bottle of local Paso Robles Castero cabernet sauvignon, plus Irish coffees all around. The whole cowboy look and feel to the restaurant was real, and not like a collection of somebody else’s knick-knacks. Love the history of the place and how they only buy locally grown products. There are inside and outside dining areas, and often they have music. TIP: The food is amazing, so make an appointment to guarantee a place. If you’ve found this review helpful, I would appreciate a thumbs up below.

Jill’s is a local joint. It serves your standard collection of apps, burgers, steaks and the like. It is a solid step below standard steakhouse decor. Think of it as a bar with a very nice menu. Our servers were solid. The place was busy and the servers working the floor were hustling. As for the food, we tried a chicken sandwich and burger at lunch and both were good if not a bit expensive for what you receive. We were a touch taken aback by the a-la-cart pricing for fries ($4.00) and the extra $1.50 for a slice of cheddar. Maybe the fancy steakhouses can get away with this but not a locals place like Jill’s. All in, we’ve visited Jill’s several times over the years and love the local/casual flair, but the meal prices are a concern for future visits.

Eating at Jill's Place gave me the feeling to be at a typical American bar/restaurant (no idea what typical really is). The atmosphere was fine and the food was good. Service wasn't that great so there is room for improvement. I can recommend to take the Strip Steak! Good and big piece of meat, well prepared. Portions are quite big so take that in consideration when you want to take a starter or desert.

We went for dinner on a Thursday evening and it was not busy. I started with an Old Fashioned and have to say that Karsh made the best one I’ve had in ages. Dinner comes with a small bowl of soup, salad and bread for the table and at $25 (for most dishes) a head, provides good value. Cooked nicely - short ribs were super and the flavor really came through. Not fatty at all. Jill is the daughter of Shaloub and they own a butchery here in town so as expected, the meat was very good. Tender and lean. Wine by the glass wasn’t exactly cheap at $16. Expensive for a Justin wine, by the glass. The real test: will we go back? Yes!

When you first enter Jill’s Place, you can’t help but notice the neon sign reading “The Butcher’s Daughter". This location is where Jerry Shalhoob started the popular family business “Shalhoob Meat Company” back in 1973. It's pretty common for people in town to serve Shalhoob products when throwing party. It's a well known and well respected Santa Barbara company. Jill's is a top quality steak house and has a great local's feel about it. What's really nice is the traditional menu where you get several sides with your entree. Needless to say, you get plenty of excellent food for a fair price. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is relaxed.
