Randomly came upon this shop as we needed a quick bite to eat. SO DELICIOUS!!! Great prices compared to a lot of other fast food places these days, with great portion & deliciousness! Highly recommend. Also quick service at the time I went (Friday Lunch).

Great toasted sourdough sandwich, cold chicken, good mozzarella cheese, amazing pesto. Gets really packed during lunch hour but definitely delicious.

Panini is that good as in Europe. We are from the Bay Area and we were impressed. Next time Santa Barbara we would come again. Thank you guys!

This review is for my experience today, as I love SCD, and will gladly praise their sandwiches as the best in Santa Barbara, bar none. However, today I tried the Viet Nom Nom per the gal's recommendation who took my order. I had walked my dog down during a break in the rain, I arrived just as they opened, so we waited at an empty table inside with my large water, and was handed my order before the lunch rush began. I had to ask for a bag as I guess the big dog, big sandwich and large water didn't provide enough clues to offer one. I thanked her and mentioned I hoped to make it home before the rain picked up again. I live about 6 blocks away, and half way home, my bag broke open, and my water shattered on the sidewalk. Bummed, I assumed the condensation from the glass soaked through the paper bag, making a mental note to wrap in napkins next time to avoid that loss. I did make it home with my hands full, and luckily the rain did not resume at that time. Once home and grabbing a plate, I quickly realized why a bag holding my lunch ripped open and wasted a $4 bottle of water, the sandwich was sopping wet, the foil and paper wrapping presumably to keep all that intact, also soaked had leaked through the bag. To add insult to injury, the mirin vinaigrette or pickled veggies rendered the bread so soggy, it basically fell apart in my hands. The irony of this wet mess, even with all that, the pork was as dry as a bone... It seems like all the ingredients would theoretically make a good bread bowl I guess, for a sandwich, they need to think this through, and not in a deconstructed Bahn mi kind of way. Sad, hungry and thirsty...

I ordered the South Coast Turkey and Caramel pecan cookies. The sandwich was so fresh and delicious! The cookies were perfect! I love getting sandwiches here, always a happy camper when I do :)

I want to eat all the things here! The salad and sandwiches I've tried have been so good. The salad was super filling, I couldn't even finish it, and I'm a volume eater. I also got to try half the panini and it was fantastic. So good that I'm ready to try all the other sandwiches quality stuff from what I've had. It's cold cuts but that's what I'm looking for. Romaine & Gorgonzola romaine with all natural roasted turkey breast, gorgonzola cheese, chopped walnut, avocado, and our tangy tabasco vinaigrette T 'N A Panini all natural roasted turkey breast w/ bacon, swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, onion, pepperoncini, mayo, and mustard grilled and pressed on your choice of sourdough or wheat

I had the viet-nom nom and it was so good. Tons of delicious pork meat. I couldn't eat it all in one go, so that day I had lunch and dinner covered!

Multiple great vegan options!

Plenty of options, protein in most of them (as opposed to some sandwich shops that only offer a caprese)

I've visited three South Coast Deli locations and all feature pretty much the same reliably fresh ingredients in their salads and sandwiches. This location does not have a parking lot but their efficiency and customer service is comfortably on a par with their other locations. This downtown setting has a little less outdoor space but about the same seating as their other locations. I've come to love this reliable lunch spot that also does breakfast. Highly recommended and you must try their organic fountain sodas too.

Wow, guys. Happy New Year to me, huh? You took my order, took my money, took my gas money driving to the store, only to have it be CLOSED?! And there was another paying customer standing at your door, equally hungry and irritated. I like your food and I was happy to treat my honey, but now I'm out $40 and probably won't be a customer again. Bummer.

I got Max’s breakfast sammie. It was yummy with the toasted sourdough bread and a little kick from the garlic-tabasco mayo was nice. The service was quick.
