Everything about this place is 5 star: comfortable seats, educational tastings of wines hard to find anywhere else, a great spot to go buy wine by the bottle, they can help you pick out the perfect one. Food from the Black Sheep next door makes it perfect.

Such delicious selection of wines from all over the world as well as Santa Barbara. They feature Lumen wines, which has a phenomenal pinot Noir. I was so excited to see a Hungarian wine by the glass that was so spectacular! You can order food from the Black Sheep attached. Beka was so friendly and knowledgeable and made our time there so special!

The Wine Shepherd is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara. The wine selection is extensive yet carefully selected and the hospitality is exceptional. A staple for locals, and a must visit for anyone else!

Escaped holiday shopping downtown for a glass of wine and to get a bottle for tonight's barbecue... what a delightful respite from the madding crowds, plus found a Barolo that will knock everyone's socks off tonight. And the other guests were engaging!

I attended one of the Wine Shepherd's Friday winemaker events. I had a great time talking with the winemaker and the wine shop owner. Everyone was extremely nice and I will definitely go again. Great service from the very friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Place looks great from the outside, but when you show up during what they say are normal business hours, they are not open. The phone number rings through to the Black Sheep next door, so no dice calling ahead to see if anyone will be there when you get there. Terrible business acumen; perhaps try to be be open when the sign says you're open. Your mileage may vary, as the other reviews can attest. That said, Lumen wines are great--you should head up to Los Alamos to check 'em out. Try Pico for dinner, while you're at it.

Cute fun little wine shop. Really nice staff. Have a glass and bring the rest of the bottle home.
