Ordered via DoorDash. I got the hainan chicken with rice. Supposed to get the half and half (hainan chicken + grilled chicken) but only got Hainan chicken. Regardless the food was absolutely delicious. I was still hungry after one plate plus a side of two chicken wings. Would recommend a double portion if you're super hungry. They gave complimentary chicken broth and that was super flavorful. I wish I could buy that chicken broth. Absolutely recommend. Can't go wrong.

Solid place for lunch if you work in the area. The kiosk makes it very easy to order and you're able to customize how you want your chicken prepared as well as what base and sauce you would like. I got the dark meat w skin on with a half and half rice and veggie base. The flavors came together really well and the chicken was so soft and tender. It also came with a small cup of broth. The portion was slightly smaller than I would have liked but filling nevertheless. This place has a lot of seating and the service was very quick despite it being the lunch rush hour.

If you have food allergies, give this place a pass. They don't know what's in the food, and most employees won't be able to hear you or answer questions. Ridiculously slow service. How does a place with this many employees take so long to take precooked food and put it in a container? The kiosk ordering is painfully slow but at the rate the employees move at, I'm guessing it's still faster than expecting them to be able to take orders. Even after your order is ready be prepared to wait longer as they move as snail's pace to actually hand it to you. People bring pets into the dining area and employees won't ask them to leave. They were too busy talking and hanging out to notice a dog being carried around the dining area. The tables and chairs are very cheap and basic. It's not very clean, the tables look like they were cleaned a few weeks ago with a dirty rag. Now for the food itself: I do not get why this place is so highly rated. This food is mediocre. It lacks real flavor or balance. The only flavor it has is heavy salt. The broth is dishwater with onion juice. The sauces are just onion oil and salt. The chicken is dry and caked in salt which is impressive for boiled chicken. If you pay for extras, you won't get them, and the staff does not care if you ask them to give you the extras. They will pretend they can't hear you or that they don't speak English then turn back to their coworker and keep talking. Do yourself a favor and dig through the old Carl's Jr dumpster, you're guaranteed to find better quality food than this overpriced sad meal.

Last time I was at a Chicken Meets Rice place was probably a year and a half ago. I don’t know if they changed the way they do things. When I got my food, I drove back to the office to eat it. Upon opening the box, I noticed that I had just cuts of chicken breasts. I was expecting a mix of chicken thighs and breasts, not all breasts. (Fat = delicious).Some other reviewers posted pics of chicken leg meats in their reviews. I thus assume they still serve chicken leg meat with their food. CMR should have asked me which cuts I want rather than assume I just want breasts.

Delicious and chill! I got food poisoning a couple of weeks ago and the hot soup and veggie / protein really cleared my palette. They have a cute post it note activity in the store and water too so you can sit and chat if you'd like, other than that the food is so crisp and yummy-- had a great time.

Stopped by Chicken Meets Rice to have something gentle on my stomach and sounded like it would be the perfect place to try out. The service is pretty simple, there's a Kiosk you can order from upon entering with lots of pictures of the food and sides, which I like. As far as the restaurant, it was easy to grab a seat and have some lunch. I ordered the Hainan Chicken box. It comes with a side of broth and some flavorful sauces. I added an extra side of rice, because I read reviews about it being very packed with flavor, which it was. As far as the chicken, the only thing I would ask is for maybe a better cut of meat, because the chicken was a little on the rubbery/gray side.
