I had a mixed experience at Ondam. During my first visit, I thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. However, my second visit was disappointing. The dishes were excessively sweet, which was quite unexpected. While I understand that food trends can vary and local flavors might influence the taste, the sweetness was overwhelming for my palate. It might be a new trend in Korea, but it didn't work for me this time.

Delicious! It's nice to have a Korean restaurant with a clean interior and diverse menu. However, the food overall is sweet. The side dishes were pleasantly sweet, but I was surprised that the palace tteokbokki soup was as sweet as syrup. I wonder if it was just this time... I think it would be okay to make it a little less sweet.Soft tofu and tuna kimbap are recommended.

Excellent food and service, really pretty decor. What completely sold me was the soup that came with dolsot. I feel like they really understood what Koreans want. It’s my new favorite Korean restaurant in Santa

It’s new opening restaurant and looks fancy interior. I ordered hot pot bibimbap and taste is good , but the rice was kind of hard to chew.

Marinated crab is very good, although it gave us running stomach the next day ?Make sure you go with a bigger group so you can try more dishes at a more affordable price with less concern of raw seafood messing up your stomach.

When I entered the restaurant for the first time, it felt I had entered one of those traditional Korean homes mixed with modern interior design. The service is fast and quick, but there are too many waiters and waitresses during the lunch hours. The banchan that arrived looks promising, but most of it is not as good as I had compared to another shop. The kimchi does not have the depth I was expecting, and the rest isn't as memorable. The doenjang jigae is not bad, but the amount of ingredients and price they are charging is not worth it. The rice came in a fancy container with the yellow pumpkin on top, which is also interesting but nothing really noteworthy. I want to come back to try their other dishes, but having a glance at the menu, the prices they are presenting do not represent a good food to price ratio at all.

There were surprisingly tremendous amount of carbs. The seafood pancake seemed huge, but the actual seafood is low density. Many bites I feel just eating batters. The beef brisket priced $27.99 but the beef is only a couple of bites and thin. The pot was deep yet filled with just rice. The tuna gimbap is decent. The mushroom tofu soup is nice (also come with rice)It turned out we (5 ppl) didn’t have enough meat and there were quite some rice left. We needed to add beef bulgogi to the order (which also came with rice…). They seemed just not having pure protein options? After a long wait (I can understand the kitchen was quite busy), the bulgogi was good. Yet it’s a bit salty that we finished all the rice. However when we were waiting for the bulgogi. The check came first…Plus the variety of appetizers was disappointing. There were only six. No seaweed, no bean sprouts. We couldn’t eat spicy food so we could only have 1-2 items. Yet we didn’t have such problems with other Korean restaurants. On a Sunday lunch the restaurant was quite busy. Many ppl waiting. Yet I wasn’t sure if it’s worthy. At least another friend who brought us here to try new restaurants said she didn’t want to come back. The menu was fancy, which has door ring that you can literally pull to open the menu. The price was fine. Plus tax and tip we paid $30 per person.

Restaurant has nice new interior and food presentation. The food itself can be best summarized as targeted for Caucasians who live in the boonies somewhere = totally Americanized. Some of it isn't even Korean food, it's Chinese, like the dry breaded fried chicken bits without sauce(???), a dish which we didn't even order but was charged for. So service is a miss. No, we Koreans will not be revisiting this restaurant ever again unless we're starving and have no other choice.Advising to head to Beijing Restaurant (Authentic Chinese-Korean) or even the expensive Chungdam (Authentic Korean) or Spring Korean BBQ.
