Came here around 6:30pm on a sunday night and waited for around 30 minutes for a party of 3. I ordered the Chirashi Don Deluxe, which was $13 pricier than the regular chirashi don for a tiny piece of uni and sweet shrimp, which was not really worth it imo. However, all the fish were super high quality. I also liked that there was a good mix of red and white fish, lean and fatty cuts, and the addition of tamago, scallop, and ikura. The sushi rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The portion was huge as well - I'd probably share this chirashi don with a friend if I were to get it again. I definitely would come back for the great fish quality.

Quickand efficient staff. I don't normally eat sushi but I really really liked the fried CA roll. I would stay away from the short ribs as an appetizer it's 12$ and they bring u a small bowl withabout 2 strips of short ribs cut into little pieces. Most of them were mostly bones. Not worth the price. All there sushi looked amazing and my sushi loving husband was si happy and he absolutely LOVED the sushi.Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible

I’ve frequented this place many times (twice this week even). The food is usually really good. However, when ordering takeout, the staff is quite rude and ignores me while I wait to pick up my order. After placing an online order, one of the workers rudely ignored me and then said it would be at least 10-15 minutes more. I’m okay with waiting but my order wasn’t ready until 40 minutes after the estimated time. I’m only leaving this review because this is the third occurrence of this after an online order. I recommend dining in person if you want better service and better sushi.

This is one of mine and my partner's favorite sushi places! It's our go-to place whenever we're celebrating something - this time, it was our anniversary. We came on a Friday night and it was definitely super busy. We got lucky and got seated pretty fast. They don't take reservations unless it's 6+ people. We ordered the beef sukiyaki udon, rantei roll and Kaisen don. We were disappointed to hear they no longer had their seafood udon but the beef was just as good. Their udons are super flavorful! My mouth is watering thinking about it... The Rantei roll was also yummy - the sauce wasn't too overpowering which I enjoyed. We tried for the kaisen don for the first time and it was okay - I'm not sure if it was worth the price. It was nice to try but I don't think we would order it again.

Wow! This place lived up to the Instagram and Tiktok hype. We came on a Saturday at 7:45 and had nine parties ahead of us, and we were seated so fast! Ordered the Dragon Roll and Chirashi Don Combination. It was delicious and fresh! The service was minimal with staff but they were kind all together.

Food 4.5/5 Service 3/5 Fish quality is excellent, the Kaisen don is the best value for its price. The rice could use some work, it was slightly undercooked so the nigiri would fall apart. But other than that, it was great. AVOID DURING DINNER RUSH HOUR (we went Thursday at 6:30pm). They are understaffed and were extremely busy and forgetful. The food also came out quite slow as well, which I assume is for the same reason. Kaisen Don Hotate Scallop - very sweet Uni - very sweet, and not a hint of bitterness Ikura - lightly salted and sweet!! This one surprised me the most, the ikura in most Japanese restaurants are super salty, but this one actually had a really pleasant taste eaten by itself. Toro - I don't personally like toro, but my husband said it was really good quality. Albeit a bit thinly sliced. Omakase Sashimi Not really worth in my opinion. It is the same price as the Kaisen don, the ingredients were special, but nothing super amazing.

We dined in before 6pm and got seated right away. There was already a crowd at the front when we left tho. We ordered the kaisen don--it has uni, hotate, blue fin toro, kani and ikura over a bed of rice. The toro was so fresh and it would just melt in your mouth. So yummy! We also got the soba and that tasted pretty good too.

I loved the delicious toro handroll and box included toro, scallop, uni, salmon roe and crab. Very filling and incredibly delicious. Next time I would love to try more dishes but overall would definitely come back!

Rantei Sushi is a popular sushi restaurant located in Santa Clara known for its very fresh sashimi and a great choice of sushi options. I praise the quality of the seafood served at Rantei, particularly highlighting the freshness of the sashimi and the variety of sushi available on the menu. However, one common feedback for me is that the seating at Rantei Sushi can be a bit tight, which may impact some diners' ability to fully enjoy their dining experience.

2nd time here and in my opinion doesn't live up to the hype.Kaisen don ⭐️⭐️⭐️: the uni was fresh and scallops and crab were decent. My biggest gripe was my toro was half frozen with the middle pieces being almost completely frozen. It ruined the texture of the fish as it was crunchy instead of soft and melty. With how much they charge ($64) they really shouldn't miss such a big thing.

Plenty of parking for this cozy spot in the Franklin mall. Even though the restaurant itself is spacious, there's always a line! We came on a rainy Sunday night, and it was still around a 30 minute wait. Service was a bit slow because of how busy they were, but the fish was fresh! The chirashi bowls were nice and filling; the fish is high quality. Not super happy with the wait for food -- we ordered two bowls and they came out almost 15 min apart -- but if you've got time, this is a great place for fresh fish.

We had the Kaisen don and Omakase sashimi. So fresh! My wife said the salmon was so fresh it melts in your mouth.

Hidden Sushi.Quality options for sushi are more challenging to find in the South Bay so I’m always on the lookout for spots.Rantei Sushi, in a quiet strip mall in Santa Clara, is known locally for their sushi donburi.I stopped by on a quiet weeknight for a very early dinner and happily ordered a few of their most popular items.I loved the ikura don, salmon belly, and Housemade ankimo. For those down in this area, it’s a solid spot if you’re not able to go to options further North in the SF Bay Area.Service was quick and they have a very extensive menu. I sampled some nigiri but feel your best bets are the Sushi & Sashimi Combination.? Housemade Ankimo / Omakase Sashimi $63.95 ~ Chef’s Choice of Special Fish in eight mini bowls (16 pieces) includes one ikura mini don / Kaisen Don $63.95 ~ Uni, Hotate, Bluefin Tuna, Kani, Ikura over Sushi Rice / Cold Soba $13.95.?Rantei Sushi (Santa Clara, CA).#japanesefood #santaclaraeats #siliconvalleyeats #donburi #sashimi#seafood #eatersf #feedfeed #topfoodnews #topcitybites #foodsharinggroup

Delicious! At first it was tough to find at night since the plaza is not very illuminated. We got seated at the sushi bar. The staff was polite & attentive. The food was brought out in no longer than 5min. We enjoyed the Volcano Roll a lot! Sake was great, the menu was full of interesting items. There are rooms for bigger parties to dine in for a traditional sitting style. The sushi was VERY fresh!
