It was almost empty when we stepped in. Staff were very courteous that's why we decided to stay. However food was just ok. Noodle was too sweet. My seafood pasta was good, but pricey. Place was clean. They served fast. They have a few restaurants in San Jose and just expanded to this location three years ago. Next to AMC.

The worst restaurant I have ever been to and worst service and worst food and worst policy.First of all the restaurant was empty at 1pm lunchtime so that should have been a sign. Server could not answer any of the question about the menu and had to go back and forth about 10 times to kitchen and get answers.anyway finally I ordered this shrimp noodle dish and wanted to get cajun sauce on the side and willing to pay for the sauce, but they refused saying its not their policy to give sauce on the side. Super crazy....then I tried the shrimp and they were like plastic rubber, so tough... I even asked for a knife and the server forgot to bring me one.... Finally after eating just one fork full I called them over and told them that the food is terrible and they should try it. They apologized but still charged me $33.00 for barely touched food. I paid but really really bad service and food.

Definitely way too harsh reviews. The lobster was very tasty and feel like we got good value. A small bit of a language barrier when ordering, but nothing crazy. Good experience.

Why was there only one other party here? This is a great alternative to The Boiling Crab without the long wait. The shrimp was juicy and complimented by the garlic noodles with succulent steak. The meal was completed by the Cajun fries. The bib and gloves came in handy! The Roasted Crab is located in Mercado, a shopping area, and parking is free in the lot. Lots of places to walk off the seafood. I'd take advantage of their happy hour deals next time, but my meal was still worth it!

Not bad at all! There were mixed reviews, especially about the service and waiting time. I experienced great/friendly service that was very helpful. My server discouraged me from ordering an app because of my meal size, saying, "you can always order more if you're still hungry." That made me feel NOT upsold, in a good way. Also, I timed how long it took from order to delivered to table and it was under 9 minutes, which seems very reasonable. Also, I received the check quickly, too. The food was kinda mediocre, but I'd go back to try other dishes.

Went here for a late lunch. The great part is they have happy hour everyday from 2-6pm and that includes weekends. My husband and I usually get the combo for 2 which is more than enough food. The service is hit or miss, but the last two times it was great. The vibe is really casual, so no need to dress up.

I'd give this place a 3.5 if I could. But I don't think it quite deserves a 4.We were in the area, actually at Walmart down the strip mall, and our group agreed that boil bags sounded great!I'm a big fan of seafood boils, and it can never TRULY disappoint. So when it comes to the food, I can't complain. The "Oh Cajun" sauce was good. I'm glad I ordered mild because my medium friends just had heavily peppered sauce. Yuck. I will give special props for the crab being cooked perfectly. Not one piece was over boiled or hard to open. Now for the negatives. This place looks and feels like a hookah bar. The vibes just don't sit right.Service was SO SLOOOW. We only saw our waitress a couple of times, and we were one of two parties in the restaurant. Unless she doubles as a cook, I have no idea what she could've been doing.Dirty bathrooms.Severely overpriced. I pay half as much in Vegas for equal or better quality, but this is San Jose. You cant buy half pounds.Redskin potatoes are better with seafood imo.

I went here after getting hungry at Home Goods which is in the same plaza. I got the fish balls, garlic noodles with prawns & a beer. I thought everything tasted delicious! I love how the garlic noodles weren't too overbearing with garlic. They have plenty of seats. When I saw the happy hour it was 2-6 pm M-F, which seems pretty good. I would like to try more food items like their shrimp boiled.

The food is very good! I ordered the Shakin' Salmon, but admittedly it took way too long for me to receive my food and the bill. Otherwise I loved it and would recommend it!

Bad food, bad service and expensive. We ordered 6 premium oysters, they are not fresh at all, tasted like stinky mud,I’ve never had this bad oysters before. The clams are also not fresh, and most of them were empty. We ordered Cajun flavor sauce for the shrimp ,only tasted butter in there. They are just sitting on the counter, lowering their head,we had to wait a while to get their attention to order,to get our check.Don’t go there!!!!!

The roasted crab is overcooked and probably unfresh, making the crab meat tastes really tough. It's the worst dungeness crab I've tried in my life. Shrimps, clams, and garlic noodles are good though.

Yeah I was honestly pleasantly surprised by this Cajun crab spot. It's virtually the same as Boiling Crab. You get some seafood boiled in some delicious cajun sauce. Eat your favorites like shrimp, crawfish, crab, and more. The best part is to give the shells a good SUCC for all of those tasty juices and sauce. :)This place was actually quite affordable if you get one of their bundles and share. I came with my buddies after watching a movie at AMC (shoutout to The House of the Lost on the Cape). That's another thing, they are open relatively late, which is quite convenient. If the lines at the In-n-Out or Smoke Eaters are looking bad, you can swing by this spot for a tasty meal. It's at the old Burger IM location.Looking back, the roasting crab is a cool new addition to the Mercado plaza in Santa Clara. It's open late and relatively affordable, and has about the same quality as Boiling Crab or other equivalent Cajun crab spots. Enough talk.
